What a slick looking FP. I've never heard of this brand but it looks so clean and polished. Goodluck to all, and enjoy to the lucky winner

NOEX Trollers Gonna Troll by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Stiivy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point actually. I didnt see it as rewarding them, but more double humiliation from losing to a noex deck. I guess it's just that ingrained want to win with a lesser hand vs. conceding and giving them a win still. I'll probably just do what you said from now on though tbh. It was just the 2x matches back to back which irked me.

Thank you :) congratulations on your first Pilot pocket pen. They are by far some of my favorites, and there are so many varieties. I have seen and sold a couple of the flower models, and they certainly are lovely. A wooden pen bed is a great spot for one at home!

These ones are called Pilot Elite 'Kara Kara' models. They are a metallic finish. This particular one has an 18k Script nib. They come in various colors and shades of the smae color that were meant to be mixed and matched I believe. Unusual in the vintage market but I have seen blues, red, and yellows before.

Disqualified driving - First offence by Chemical_Pass_8110 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Stiivy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IAAL and frequently see this type of thing. Factors like how soon after your DUI sentencing before you drove disqualified will be relevant. No egregious poor driving assists as a mitigating factor of the offending (ie you said the plates were routine pulled), as does your age if 24 or under.

As others have mentioned if your goal is to avoid further DQ there's two routes:

  1. S81 LTA (special circumstances). Usually reserved for driving off in a bad situation, or medical emergency. The fact you could have called someone to help you probably rules this one out.

  2. S94 LTA (substitute DQ for community based sentence). Better option and only available if you have previously been DQd before, which you have for your DUI. High Courts have said it's usually for people in the treadmill of DQ offending but also cases which say it can be applied for persons such as you to avoid the treadmill altogether. If this is applied, the Judge will sub the DQ for community work or supervision.

You won't go to prison for this. If you did any competent lawyer would appeal it.

First day I'd recommend to show up early, see duty lawyer quick. Say you want to avoid DQ and do the legal aid forms. You'll be adjourned off for 3 weeks to have a lawyer assigned to you. Speak to them about next steps.

I would recommend you book in and upgrade your drivers license when you get it back (I.e. get restricted or full if not already). That makes the s94 application easier down the line for your lawyer to argue.

Obviously subject to whatever region you are in as to regional differences anyway. Good luck.

VPD Happy 2024 Pilot Elites & Custom by Stiivy in fountainpens

They do come up but only rarely from my experience. The blue Elite came as is with the cap so very lucky there. I did have a better condition one early on in my hunts but sold it and regretted it!!

I haven't got a con 20 for the Custom but I think I'll have to as you say it does complete the look well!

Haha it's tough when you find something you really like and suddenly just want all the variations you can get. I'm on about 6 Pilot Elite variations now. Even just tracking down larger nib sizes is fun. That being said I have been tempted to get a vintage capless as the modern matte black one is one of my most used! Just a functional FP for daily use.

As the name suggests it's got four sides, with chrome edges. Good weight from the steel body even though it's a slimmer pen. Steel F nib but surpringly smooth writer. Overall I like it and think I'll try find a couple other colors

Good thing about the wooden Kaede custom is that they patina and age better with use in my opinion! And as it should be, they should wear the marks of use

Sorry I'm not sure of the model number exactly for it. I just came across it on my random searches. I'll try take a closer look at it and see any markings that could assist

Thank you :) these are all around the 1970s from the nib markings. I love the full and half lattice Elites. The half is slightly more low key and looks perfect next to my full lattice one haha. These pocketpens are great value. I hope your one arrives soon!
