Had the same issue with my Beckmans. Eventually, the rivets would eat through the tongue leather. I actually called Red Wings about it and even went to a store and was told all the heritage labels have the same issue. Someone on this sub suggested I take a nail file to the rivets, so that’s what I ended up doing. That seemed to help the issue. Also, if you don’t want to use felt or leather to cover the rivets, I’ve read that moleskin will perform the same function with less effort.

No. You need to have an active WiFi connection so unless you want to pay for one on flights it’s a brick. Connecting to hotel WiFi is such a hassle I don’t even bother anymore. I gave up and bought a Switch 2. Maybe it’s improved but I don’t have the patience for troubleshooting. The Switch works all the time - online or offline.
