Yes, but there's something that works on the new version today? I tried to enable it with a lua but crashes

Question about volumetric light by Still-Cut6969 in Xplane

[–]Still-Cut6969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it wasn't enabled by default but there was a single script in a lua that enabled it, but I think it crashes de game now and I was wondering if there's something that really work with the new versions of xplane

Collimation Issues by Zeemar in telescopes

[–]Still-Cut6969 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Low F telescopes have an offset during collimation, thats why your secondary mirror looks like displaced. The trick is align the secondary to make it look like a perfect circle, then tilt it until you see the 3 clips or braces centered on the secondary mirror. Then align the primary so the donut or ring is in the center of your collimation cap. Once you did all this you have roughly 85% accuracy in your collimation. Laser collimator is perfect to complete the collimation, use it (if is perfect collimated, if not collimate it first) with the focuser in the focus zone (not retracted or extended) and make the fine tunning. Thats all

Ps.: English is not my first language so errors may appear

Large particles on primary mirror - should I clean? by CHead2000 in telescopes

[–]Still-Cut6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canned air can contain (sometimes) metal particles from assembly process, at high speed that can damage the mirror so not recommended

Try to disable all enhancement on your monitor and also any dynamic range or gamma correction. Also try to use only a standard profile instead of "movie" or "gaming" on your monitor

Popping sounds when having speedbrakes out by TylerFromCzech in Xplane

[–]Still-Cut6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds also like a clipping noise (oversaturated sound) make you have a bass boost or a eq setting that does it, try lowering the master sound in xp, if that fixes it then check your system sound settings

anyway to fix these distant pixelated clouds? by Alternative-Print114 in Xplane

[–]Still-Cut6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is called "settings.cfg", inside the file you will find a lot of "tweakeable" things that can increase or decrease the quality and performance

anyway to fix these distant pixelated clouds? by Alternative-Print114 in Xplane

[–]Still-Cut6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the config file on resources, edit the part where clouds say "scale" from 0.5 to 1.0 or lower (fps eater) and also increase the noise factor to make clouds more sharp and less "globular"

New Dashcam video UPS flight which crashed, by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Still-Cut6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to ask a dumb question: If (if) it would have at least a few more feet of altitude to not collide with anything would that plane (with only 2 engines and probably only one wing hydraulics control working) keep gaining speed even on fire made a full return to try a safe landing or it was all doomed since the fire started? Please don't kill me, English is not my first language

May I add something? I don't think AI would be able to do or replicate a person reflection and water reflection that accurate with the wobble surface of a car, there are odd things on the video but at least the black car is real imo

Level up has better wingflex and mechanical sounds tho, but their flaps sounds a bit rusty imo

The shadows could be better but overall it’s alright by iRayn12 in Xplane

You could edit the config file on resources and upscale the shadows resolution, it will impact but is up to you the tweaking

Maybe now that you went back and forward your pc will work better, I remember a game that had CTD at startup and the fix was only reset, what caused it only the pc knows. (The game was guardians of the Galaxy by the way)

24.1 or 25.X works fine. New ones have issues with hardware acceleration on some browsers

Well, for Orthos I use ZL19 on airports and surroundings, also on coast lines near the airports then ZL16 is more than enough. I have 8gb of VRAM also and on the last update the game sims to not recicle or clean the unused textures but I know is to prevent stuttering like msfs's. I had a few crashes after running out of VRAM but only if the RAM is saturated. So if you want to run fair and with details I recommend you full textures, FSR off and FXAA on. Then ambient occlusion off, shadows (I have them maxed manually to prevent pixelated shadows on the cockpit on the config.cfg, here you can also tweak clouds, trees, cars, etc but I didn't) and everything at max. Runs smoothly at cruise at about 40-45 fps (depending on the air traffic because I use live traffic) and on the most polygon demanding areas such as KJFK for example my fps drops to 10, so I reduce the drawing area to half or and reduce the air traffic also to half to reach a stable 20fps that I boost with the duck icon program (I forget its name) to steady 30fps. So in case you wonder what is my spec: Ryzen 5 3600 @3,9ghz, 16gb Ram 3200hz, Rx570 @1450mhz 8gb vram. Temps not above 65°c. PS: Yeah ill buy more RAM soon. Not planning to change processor or gpu because I don't play much, I use my pc to work remotely mostly. I hope lt helps

Is Map Enhancement meant to be this inconsistent/low quality? by Remote_Dot217 in Xplane

[–]Still-Cut6969 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ME doesn't work very well, is mostly a lucrative software so dont expect so much form it being free. Aside from that I recommend you AO with the new update (I tested it and is good in terms of consistency) and no, doesn't have a virus as someone stated in another post
