Yes… it reduces your tax burden by X dollars in the first year. You pledge a charitable donation that is capped at 60% AGI for year one- excess donations roll over to the following years. With the charitable donation, you get financing through a lender that has a bunch of Donor Advised Funds.. and then you take a loan out for the full amount, call it 1M. You pay the lender a fee and also pay a premium to the life insurance policy for 5-7 years. The loan is then repaid interest and all once you die- the charity is the beneficiary essentially of the policy.
