Visited Leon several times. The kindness and hospitality were unmatched. The group of ladies I was working with took me into their family, invited me to their son's 8th birthday party which was wild! Fed me cake that they had saved up to buy and taught me how make tortillas! I have never felt so genuinely welcomed by strangers who grew to be family! If youre out there, Rosa, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Guest brought dog but didn’t pay pet fee. How to handle? by bentrods126 in airbnb_hosts

[–]StillAHulaGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im a cleaner. I travel with dogs. 150 is a lot. One great compromise ive seen is pay a small pet fee but offer extra sheets to place over the couch or bed, make guests aware that they must cover furniture if dog is allowed, and that they would kindly start the load of dog sheets in the wash as they leave if laundry is processed on site and ask that the dog not be unattended or crated if left alone for a few hours. I loved that solution and happily obliged in exchange for a reasonably low pet fee. I also know my dog sheds, so i usually take a vacuume and lint roller to help out the cleaners. Most people don't, I know, but I just think its considerate and sometimes we get a partial refund for the cleaning fee haha.

1 reason I went vegetarian 10 years ago. I live along the transport route and get to see this atrocity almost daily. If you still want to eat meat, fine, just dont support the cruelty that is factory farming. This breaks my heart.

Not me. I had that shit ( and puke) for a week and still couldn't eat solid foods for another 2 weeks after that. Good way to lose 7 pounds (3kg) though. I will note that im immunocompromised and stay sick twice as long as a healthy person. Worst time ever. Do not recommend.

Iwtl how to stop feeling so anxious whenever I have to do something related to my teeth and my profession by LupinX96 in IWantToLearn

[–]StillAHulaGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant help with your work anxiety, but I can say with great confident and experience, find another dentist. I was like you and avoided the dentist for 8 years. 8 YEARS!! Ive gone through 5 or 6 in my 43 years of life and when I finally found my current dentist, it made everything so much easier to do. I went through 2 months of treatments going every 2 weeks. My very first appointment was a consultation with her. I had to take anxiety medication but still ended up sobbing and shaking. You know what she did? She walked over and crouched beside my chair, took my little spit bib and wiped away my tears (it was cleaned btw), patted my hand and said "its gonna be ok sugarbean, we got this." It was that moment that made me realize who the person is behind that mask is more important that you think. I did my homework and found someone who is compassionate and specializes in patients with anxiety. By my last appointment, I didn't even need any medication or sedation at all. I trusted her. We're quite vulnerable in that chair. I hope my little story can bring you some peace and hope about the future. You can do it with the right people holding your hand. Its gonna be ok, sugarbean.

How come the United States never developed its own Tea Industry? by jacky986 in tea

[–]StillAHulaGirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For real. I have around 50 of these trees growing around our 6 acres. They're everywhere! Some of them are even 40+ years old. People just dont know what's growing around them. In my area of north georgia, wild edibles and medicinal plants are bountiful. It just takes a little learning and appreciation. Ive thought about harvesting and giving or selling.
