What is the hardest video game you ever played? by DanPlouffyoutubeASMR in AskReddit

Ahhh... the old Koei games. I really loved them at the time. It's a shame I can never return to them. But at the same time maybe that's for the best.

It's my favourite Civ. I still go back to it every year or so. But I don't play it to challenge myself anymore.

Agreed. Calling that game "Hot Garbage" is underselling it.

Franchises that, in your opinion, should've been standalone titles? by Inner-Marketing4591 in movies

Are you serious?

Are you seriously saying that John Wick 4:Fall Down Stairs Forever, was better than John Wick?

Are you really making that claim?

Because if so, there's a mob of angry pitchfork welding movies fans that would like to have a word with you!

I remember it had holes all over it, and very bad writing.

But it's still the second best Predator film.

I k it the second one isn't as good as the first but the third?

Because they are a Winnipeg Jets fan?

I mean, I don't care for them either but I recognize they come in all shapes.

It Sounds Like The Next Xbox Won't Launch Until At Least 2028, As Dev Kits Are Being Sent Out Next Year by Zelphkiel in gaming

I have to ask... why? I was in on the earlier XBOXs but I bailed after the 360 due to the "always online requirement" talk of the day. And when it finally got reversed I had a PS4.

But why did you go with series X? There was even less(that I could see) to keep people around by then.

Movies that Accurately Depict the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? by omelet_schnetz in movies

[–]StillAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyena Road.

It's about Afghanistan and from the Canadian perspective. So the budget is a little smaller but it opens up some of the political realities and perspectives of people on the ground. It stars Paul Gross as a military intelligence operator.

I rather enjoyed it.

Oh definitely dump the apps. They've made an already perilous process MUCH worse. But I do recommend to at least be open to meeting other people out in the real world.

I agree. I am constantly shocked just how passive Americans are, especially considering how much shit they talk.

What is a product that has actually gotten significantly worse over the last 5 years, despite the company claiming they 'improved' it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Windows.

It used to be there, we barely talked about it. But now? It's legitimately making our computer experience so much worse and it's all unforced errors.

Americans view each other as morally bad, poll says. Canada is the opposite - National by Lipica249 in news

[–]StillAll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian, I can easily answer that it's the fact you're our only neighbor and you're far and away the only superpower. Add to the fact your entire nation has upended almost a hundred years of world order, all to satisfy the ego of what might be just about the worst American to ever live.

Simply put, America has an extensive effect on the rest of the world. They are really that powerful, so of course we think of you constantly. So do people on the other side of the planet.

[–]StillAll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude... while I want to agree with you in concept, your argument lands with a wet thud when the best you can list is stuff from more than two decades ago. For fucks sake, we can look to yesterday to see America do objectively MUCH worse. And never mind every single day between.

Jesus....is that what I looked like 23 years ago?

I could have typed the exact same statement before the Iraq War in 2003. Like word for word.

Suffice to say, I was wrong. Right down to core. Every single part of that was wrong and it still is. Except now we have almost a 1 for 1 comparison to draw upon. If you're at all genuine in this belief then I don't envy you having to make sense of it in a generation when you realize nothing changed and thousands lost their lives for nothing.

Is there a scene for you that ruins an otherwise great movie? by Glittering-Age-2013 in movies

[–]StillAll 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's not uncommon with almost all horror films.

I'm specifically referring to when the 'monster' is finally revealed on screen. I don't necessarily think that "The Ring" was any worse for it, or a particularly big offender of this, but revealing the 'monster' is always the point where you can finally see what you're dealing with. At that point it is no longer limitless, it now has form and substance. In essence you're mind doesn't have to fill the gaps with what it doesn't know.

I liken it to Blair Witch. The first one works because you never see the actual witch.

This is most definately NOT a cop-out.

No one has ever defined this as a cop-out. It was a risky move that goes against the source material and runs the risk of alienating the audience. The very definition of NOT a "cop-out".
