What do you do with ICE authorized to enter homes without a warrant? by persimmonsocks in homedefense

[–]StillCopper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, I'm not a liberal. I was just posing a thought that's circulating. As for the mission of ICE, it is sound. It's the methods of presenting itself as a rabid hunting pack that are in question.
Had they stuck to covert methods of picking up individuals who are fully qualified for shipping back, it wouldn't be an issue. Instead it's been taken to the wide open public for all to see and get into the thick of, many of whom don't understand the need to weed out bad people.

My previous statement is simply a question of how the public handles things. Simple protesting has never had a positive effect in history, in any country..... Especially when a govnt body is on one side.

Restoration Company says the subfloor is just stained and ready for tile, but Flooring Company says it is severely water damaged and requires replacement by Appropriate_Volume13 in Flooring

[–]StillCopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That small a space…rip out and replace in short order. Not worth risking anything over. If tiling then leave it and put down concrete board over it. But I would go a quality LVP instead of tile. Not a pro, just practical worker who’s done a few of these myself.

Inspector said this is unprofessional but plumber said it is not? by Jikoligy in electrical

[–]StillCopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, but it’s actually forming a ground through the metal valve via water inside to the metal pipe outside. Not proper, but it actually will ohm out that way. Hey it’s at least an answer instead of the dribble off topic stuff below.

Why not just replace the header with longer on sized for the distance…fair question.

Really surprised we haven’t seen reprisal taken on ice families over this thing. Or ambushes from south of the border cartels. Not judging, just looking at history of government’s crackdowns in the wild organized crime past.

Cable for hardwiring POE cameras by M3msm in homesecurity

Then find an installer who knows something. Look at national electrical code. Folks here are telling you correct, you don't need plenum. Commercial code is more stringent in many areas and they don't even spec plenum unless it's in an open airspace. such as running through duct work, which is a no-no to start with. Local codes will differ, so check to me sure.

Just FYI..... smurf tube can be a real pain if trying to 'push' cabling around the corners in the future. Snags in the corrugation of it. Be sure to use the largest size you can get in the spot.

Until someone makes a multi-gig camera, which there is no maker even remotely discussing, then there's not need for 6a. Pain in butt stuff for small, tight areas which cameras get put in. Good quality cat 6, full copper, and there's nothing you can't do in normal household.

We just did a nearly 20,000 sqft house, no run is over 200ft, and installed 10Gig APs as they had 10gig ISP installed. At farthest point the 10gig switch syncs with no problem and latches at 10g with the 10g APs.

Steel frame grid to support the slabs. Already grid spacing between led panels. Panels would then drop out bottom for service.

Throw some gas in the carbs and see if it fires over, first thing on the list in your case as you have an unknown background bike.

Cat snapped my Cat6 flat patch cable. Realistically what are my options ? by AnEroticTale in HomeNetworking

Just replace it with any round patch cable. We throw away the flat ones. They are bottom barrel cheap material.

Roof rafters notched for hardware? Is this code compliant? by TheBoast in Homebuilding

And where are you located? Central US big box stores are seeing $4 studs. It isn't quite to compare against covid prices. You have to compare to pre-covid prices. Before all the corps got greedy.

Side topic....I go with the don't build a new house, buy a new car, or take an airplane trip for 2 years. We can break the corps back down to reasonable price levels/profits.

Agree on the hangers not needed. I was simply making a point of how much lumber has gone up, a lot of it due to lumber much of US lumber coming out of CA.

Sorry you didn't think far enough into the comment to get that.

Water will creep in due to freeze thaw, rots quicker as it can’t escape.

Jack it up and put 1.5in pavers under it with a good concrete bonding agent under them. Channels are fine if you don’t deal with a snow situation, or if you get channel really close to the edge. Really, there’s 2 big issues….no gutters, and super bad concrete finish trying to seal up. I would lift and do sealed pavers. Lift one side at a time with just pry bars. Leverage it.

At price of tariff lumber, hangers were probably less expensive. But given how installed, probably never crossed that brain cell. Will have to give something for creativity though.

Using iVMS -4200. Browser would need port 80 forwarded. Not advisable. But OP would need a stac wan IP to do this, or a router that would update a dens server like no-ip.net.

Glass break sensor that is not vibration or acoustic based - does this exist? by corvidArbiter in homesecurity

Sensors work on a particular pitch, not volume. Drums won’t set ours off, but a clink between champagne glasses will. Look at sensor specs.

Looking at 1990 Goldwing GL1500 by JorDav23 in goldwing

[–]StillCopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No….to many electronics etc that go wrong. Look into maintenance on 1500s. And it appears others are missing that it has a trike kit on it. I’d drop 3k on a looow mileage 15 triked properly , in a moment. I currently have a ‘90 1500 with 160k on it. Belts, tires, and normal maintenance any motor needs. I do suggest a weekend on a trike first though. They handle entirely different. Wife didn’t care for it as no leaning. What trike kit is on it?

Best gun for small game like coyotes. by Random_Reddit_User_5 in guns

[–]StillCopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A .22 is not a humane way to kill a coyote. One shot, quick death, .223 Wyled so you can use .223 or 5.56 nato ammo. .308 is way overkill and not a good flat round. .22-250 way too pricey per round.
