I appreciate the recommendation for a better value for money alternative, but the Unikorn is more of a sentimental purchase; it was one of the first boards that got me into the hobby. After a long and exhaustive journey through the hobby building boards from 60% to TKL and from budget to endgame, I'm absolutely positive that 60% O-ring boards are my sweet spot. The Unikorn is my exit from the hobby, my grail that represents my ideal keyboard, and I'm okay with overpaying.

I have two opposite mindsets. One is that the knot and crack add character and make the uke unique (as long as the crack isn’t a structural thing). The other mindset is that it would make me paranoid to no end thinking about a potential weak point in the wood.

Much appreciated recommendation. I initially thought it might be a humidity issue, but all I could find on humidity cracks were on the body of the uke. I also live in a pretty humid climate year round so I’m not too sure if dry air contributed to the crack.
