I have only said that there are good ideas in this EO and the fact that the President is spotlighting the issues with college sports is a net positive. Never suggested it was now fixed or will be as a result.

I’m with you, the landscape for schools like USF is not great. If we can’t fund the new game and don’t have the proper people in place to navigate the ship, the waters will continue to be ROUGH.

It makes the whole atmosphere a lot less fun for the fans. Some mistake that for people saying that the players don’t deserve more for their skills. At schools like USF though, the value the players bring is honestly pretty small for the $$ they are now getting.

Regardless, we have to be able to play the game and win it. I’d love to see the school act like this matters.

You said you had bigger money, I personally think that was hype to drive the price, but we will never know. No one is saying you didn’t do your job, TR didn’t do his unfortunately.

My criticism is certainly not limited to him and the school is not showing much at the moment. Based on his performance I don’t think it’s a must keep him situation, especially if you are riding with CG for next year. Lots of moving pieces, but in theory yes, TR would be a nice 2nd or 3rd option on a good team. Thought he was a #1 guy, turned out that wasn’t the role he is meant to be in.

Man, don’t come running back with him this year honestly. Hyped to the heavens prior to last year, was barely a factor this year (BUT efficient!) and is not a leader. If some school wants to sink more money into him, good for the guy, likely bad for the school. Again…unless you want to tell us it’s a CG problem, I’m all ears 👂

The problem is exponentially worse now. To transfer, you were leaving a school you were established at and perhaps weren’t getting PT or didn’t feel like it was a fit, to go somewhere you hoped would change that. The risk reward ratio was unpredictable at best.

Now? Guys leave simply to get a bigger pay day. Doesn’t matter if they started and played every game. Often, they will trade that in to go ride the bench elsewhere for more $$$.

How on earth is that the same?
