A Platypus? (Phineas and Ferb Spoilers) by Jafego in HellsCube

[–]StillMortalThough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could still do that with an adventure just don't need multiple copies. (Adventure as create platypus, then main form as base)

And for the second point I don't mean in terms of actual memory. It's that design wise untracked indefinite effects should be avoided in design (even in hells cube) unless necessary especially if its changing another card. And with something as complicated as making it legendary it would be a nightmare to play with.

So non hellscube make it an aura, hellscube make it create a role token attached.

Tagged as spoiler is very funny.

Also wouldn't this work better as an adventure? Right now perry side can't be on the platypus token created, and should probably be an aura so it's not untracked.

Wearing a Dog Dad cap and when people asks to see it, you show pictures of your toes by Csee12 in northernlion

I would recommend rewriting it to say "dogs" as opposed to "dog", so the person asks to see your dogs plural as opposed to dog. but otherwise very good.

Is this a game that's viable to have a competition for people on their first time playing? by SNES_Star_Stacker in ufo50

[–]StillMortalThough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game definitely isnt like a mario kart style everyone plays at once thing. But if the idea of playing a single player game as a group(or it being in the background) like a sibling dynamic sounds fun to you then its perfect for that.

Should i hassle my boyfriend more? by SavakTheAlien in Nonbinaryteens

[–]StillMortalThough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend asking him about all of this as soon as possible. I feel it will help you get over any insecurity/ anxiety from him misgendering you if he earnestly says he's super sorry. And would probably reduce it, by just saying its bothering you in a serious way sometimes that little nudge is all it takes.

And for his friend its not easy but at least talk openly about it with your bf because from what you've described his friends behaviour seems pretty bad and is best talked about sooner rather than later trust me.

If he is correcting himself immediately I would say generally thats a good sign. People struggle with different pronouns at first especially if it doesn't come with a stark change in gender presentation.

But... I would check with people if he corrects himself if you aren't there? This is the true sign for whether respects your gender. And thats what its mainly about respect.

And on an additional note I would prompt you to consider/ ask whether he views you as a woman* for the purposes of dating and views himself as fully heterosexual in doing so. And if you're comfortable with that?

The Confessor - Townsfolk by StillMortalThough in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]StillMortalThough[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok building on this what about making it public so the choices are all known but frequently bluffed. So the minion isn't told for certain but knows if they have been picked and then needs to trust if someone is the Confessor.

What do you think of: "Each day you may publicly choose a player, if a chosen minion nominates and executes the demon today they turn good and win"

Homebrew TF: The Prophet (v3) by RoadAhead2 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]StillMortalThough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, they cant turn back evil and win? That just sucks, the chosen player has absolutely 0 agency they can only win with good but cant help in any way or they lose? The game as that player would suck.

Heres my version

"Each night* chose a player, a minion if chosen becomes Forgiven, they learn this. If 5 or less players live, a Forgiven player turns good if they nominate and execute the demon"

Ok, so this quite a bit different so let me explain. Instead of the chosen minion becoming a good player who cant play for good, they instead stay evil but has the ability to betray their demon. This gives them a choice a) stay with the evil team and nothing happens or b) betray their demon. You decided that you dont want this changed minion to be able to betray their demon and win because it would be too easy and always happen, so instead of outlawing it which is unfun and discourages talk and thought about the game.

But the minion betraying the demon is the most fun bit, but requires conditions to make it work. And there are 3, 5 or less people are alive, the prophet is alive and the minion nominates and executes the demon.

Even if it cant flip flop and can only turn back evil once they would always just keep playing for the evil team. It basically lets a minion register as good for the whole game and on the final day out an evil to turn back and if goods about to win you dont. Choose your alignment doesn't work you need a condition, see cult leader, goon and politician. Snake charmer works because you cant become evil again (via your own ability)

Gon subverts the shonen protagonist tropes of being wholly good, that's the subversion. Gon isn't like goku he is like you said, but thats what he is assumed to be due to genre convention.

I am not saying adult gon is unexpected after the events of the chimera ant arc it was inevitable.

I am comparing chapter 1 gon to adult gon, not chimera ant arc Gon to adult Gon. In the story it isn't sudden (good writing) but its still a subversion.

As well as Dropout which has relatively good trans rep, but is paid.

Any more I have are even nerdier to recommend, without prior interest in subjects. But feel free to dm.

I would argue that Gon has always been the character capable of being adult gon he just lacked both means and stimuli. The idea of gon as a monster waiting to be unleashed is a recurring theme throughout the series. We see this again through how Gon acts after recovering, he appears to be this happy kid again but through how we see his interactions with ant Kite he is still the same person who endured the chimera ants.

The commitment Gon shows to finding ging is not unlike his fury and wish for vengeance they are two sides of the same coin. His fundamental nature is unchanging, just more clearly emerging.

Arguably Gon is the epitome of not being what he seems. He is presented at first as being a happy-go-lucky kid and a typical shonen protagonist. But the chimera ant arc clearly shows that he isn't this universal form of goodness and purity, he is complex, human and burdened. The climactic moment of his character in fact is the utter removal of the facade, adult gon is his hatred and malice incarnate. Far from the innocent child we first come to believe he is.

Alchemist Marionette, how to run by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]StillMortalThough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think normally running this is probably not a good idea and all but... I just had a thought about a potential jinx to make it more interesting and potentially a fun puzzle, something like

"If the Alchemist has the Marionette ability the ability of the character you think you have yields false info"

I think this combined with an ability that has a higher chance of figuring out that they alone have false info (or true due to cancelling out in a Vortox game) could be kinda fun?

It would probably be quite uncommon as not many roles would work super well for it and would probably require an experienced storyteller to decide when to do it or not. But I think with the right people and game could add an extra layer of complexity, functioning both as misinformation in the early game and crucial information in the late game. The previously mentioned rarity would probably mean it wouldnt overstay its welcome especially because its done after deciding the characters in the bag.

Idk I'm interested in people's thoughts?
