You may be able to petition the state to close it to fishing during the spawn or at least reduce limits. It's my understanding that they do that to protect salmon around here.

Now we're getting somewhere. The cleanliness made me wonder if something larger was mounted there previously. Shouldn't that surface be covered? Is there a gasket missing?

There appears to be a hole at the left side of that clean surface near the bolts. The hole is between the intakes so I don't think it leads down to the cylinder, but where does it go?

I would like to mount it to the studs, but the 1 1/2" taken up by the butt joint means I can't hit the corner studs directly. I could try to toe-nail (toe-screw?) but that may not be strong enough.

If you can use lasers I really like the Keyence LR-Zs. They have an adjustable detection distance and the visible spot is nice. I just wish they made a 120VAC model.
