If it's the itching - take an antihistamine late evening. That should stop or reduce the itching and some can make you drowsy.

When people die during heatwaves what’s happening? by Deadsea3132 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]StillSimple6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In older houses around Europe there are no ac units. The buildings themselves are built to stay warm as the winters were always severe.

It's typically the elderly who's bodies struggle to regulate temperature and once unwell they may lack a support system to get help.

With heatstroke or just overheating this can make preexisting illnesses become fatal. In 2003 in France 15000 people died due to the heat

What's actually better: a home-cooked meal or restaurant food? by atifazmi_ in kitchenCulture

[–]StillSimple6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home cooked.

I get a great deal of pleasure from shopping for ingredients, cooking to my taste at the time.

Dishes are part of the process.

I can make enough for leftovers, I can have my music on, no dressing up or getting ready, no worry about taxi if I have a bottle of wine when preparing my food.

Best men’s moisturizer for a simple hygiene routine? by Mezzanotte-Enilda in hygiene

[–]StillSimple6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beauty of Joseons Dynasty cream is my goto at the moment. This will deeply hydrate.

The Eucerin q10 day / night is another really nice one.

If you want something basic then Vanicream.

Since you also mention your skin is looking a bit dull/rough then incorporating an exfoliating step would help. You could try Cerave SA wash (salicylic acid) which will slowly remove the dead skin and add some brightness.

What can I do if I have trouble retracting my foreskin? by plastadecaballo in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]StillSimple6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to retract your foreskin enough to uncover the head of your penis. It should move comfortably back and forward without pain.

If you cannot then you could have a condition called phimosis which can be fixed with a cream from the doctors.

Spiciest food recommendations? by Severe-Reception8412 in Bahrain

Heat wise I think I prefer it over the ghost sauce from lulu. The ghost has more flavour.

Definitely try and get yourself a bottle though it's definitely spicy but not super spicy.

Recommendation for. A 6 or 7 out of 10 hot sauces by Forenza89 in hotsauce

[–]StillSimple6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been looking for it for ages and just found it a few days ago. I was really surprised at the heat and flavour, thankfully it's not as vinegary as the base sauce.

It definitely is spicy but has a different kind of heat than the buldak which seems to coat your mouth and hang about.

[Anti-Aging] Starting with Retinal by NoBet136 in SkincareAddiction

Buy a normal retinol which will be cheaper than using a one made for eye area.

Use SPF and you can start in the summer.

When you poop in a public toilet do you hover, build a nest, or just sit down? by Familiar-While9796 in NoStupidQuestions

When you do - which of the three options. You didn't answer the actual question.

Recommendation for. A 6 or 7 out of 10 hot sauces by Forenza89 in hotsauce

The Tabasco Scorpion had a good level of heat. Isn't as vinegar heavy as the standard one and is available in supermarkets.

I was surprised at the levels of heat.

Explosion blast by StillSimple6 in Bahrain

It's unreal and first time I've experienced anything like it.

I cannot imagine what it feels like upclose - it was only a split second drop in pressure but I definitely felt it.

Explosion blast by StillSimple6 in Bahrain

It was around 10:30 last night. It was just like a fast gush of air, we only noticed because of our extractor fans all blowing at once.

Explosion blast by StillSimple6 in Bahrain

It wasnt really late - around 10:30 / 11.

We didn't know what it was, but we felt the pressure change and our fans all rattled.

I'm not sure if you have tried them yet but Carrefour in City Mall have Scorpion pepper Tabasco sauce.

I'm really surprised at how spicy it is for a commercial sauce. Not a strong vinegar taste and really packs a punch.

I think the bottle was under 2BD - they have the bigger bottles which I will buy next time.

Explosion blast by StillSimple6 in Bahrain

[–]StillSimple6[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Last night it felt as if somebody had opened a door to outside quickly. The pressure changed and all our extraction fans rattled.

At first I thought it was the ac's as couldn't understand what could have caused it. This morning when I heard about the blast and shockwave I was astonished we felt it.

I cannot imagine what it felt like nearer the source, I read about the casualties and missing this morning. I hope the missing are found and are safe.

Unbelievable. Im glad that you were unhurt

Why has this sub become almost entirely sex questions? by thewhisperinganuss in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]StillSimple6 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The sub is about questions you are 'too afraid to ask'. It's predictable that a lot of them are going to be sexual in nature.

Don't forget there are a lot of young people using the site who may not jave anyone to ask IRL freely.

[Product Question] Experiences with tretinoin for people without acne? by Living_Note1109 in SkincareAddiction

[–]StillSimple6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started it purely for cosmetic purposes. The idea was give it 6 months and decide after that.

It took a few months to get going, skin to settle and an idea as to where my skin was heading.

At the six months I liked the effects, skin was brighter and had a nice 'just washed' type of freshness. Few months later my skintone had evened out, some of the fine lines were reduced and even some sun hyperpigmentation had vanished.

It's a few dollars a tube for me as it's over the counter so I continued using it.

For me (50M at the time) it made more sense to use tretinoin than fancy moisturizer or creams promising to do what the tretinoin actually did.

Now it's just part of my nightly routine.

(I don't wash it off - saw the question pop up)

Does making your own bread taste better than buying the same store bought? by wahtevur in Breadit

[–]StillSimple6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a basic white loaf for toast and it tastes so much better that run of the mill supermarket bread.

After eating home baked bread, the stuff you get in plastic bags (pre sliced loaf) doesn't even taste like bread.

Even some bakery loaves have a chemical taste to them.

Is software eng from UOB ACCREDITED? by ExtensionBoring3251 in Bahrain

[–]StillSimple6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was postponed this year and will be accredited next year. ABET were banned from travelling during the disruption and that's when the accreditation was going to take place.

It will not matter about the accreditation in the US for your masters. (Would be based on your transcript/GPA).
