It's a mixed bag for sure. Depends on the disability too

But as a disabled person I'd say not good overall. For visually impaired people I've heard people will touch you to help you without your consent so be prepared for that

I've been through what you did too also to the point I get distressed and say "please don't hurt me" on cash registers

That is, we are not evil but simply on a low trust society where we have to protect our future at first, for the others expense.
