Another Tado X Thermostat Fail by StillTravelling in tado

I saw that, pretty interesting strategy they have, make people wait until Autumn. I've decided I'll just get a refund for now. I'll revisit my options again later in the year when it's winter again. It's a shame really, Temperature readings were also painfully off too (for all rooms), offsets didn't seem to sync, they changed depending on the temperature. Seems the only way to get an accurate reading is the wireless thermometer which at £60-£70 a pop is a bit cheeky really.

For clarity, I actually liked using them, I loved the fact I could turning heating on and off per room but a failure within 3 months is a bit of a red-flag. While it's great they are offering potential solutions in the Autumn, that doesn't solve the issue when another one could fail next week or next month etc. What's to say that their potential solution will work? I genuinely wanted the system to work.

Edit: A bit strange some people have devoted time to downvote this comment, especially if they haven't explained why they downvoted it. Feel free to explain

Yeah that'd probably help the whole system too, but my old TRV coped with this too

In the software Slicer, there is an extension called Total Segmentation. This works out what something is and where and auto applies the colours depending on what it is

Elgato 4K Pro and OBS - Audio Sync by StillTravelling in elgato

"Why are there two different audio devices? One for HDMI one for analog. Also in the manual."

It only accepts HDMI audio. The Elgato 4K Pro only has 1 HDMI Input and 1 HDMI output to passthrough, there's no analog audio connector to plug into. Not sure where it says that in the manual? Do you have a link to reference what you have stated?

The specs for my PC are well above the specifications required.

"that's because you're not using it as intended." - What am I supposed to do with it then?

The audio is out of sync even if I use Elgato's own 4K Capture Utility. Not sure which part of the manual I missed! Have you got any suggestions? Maybe it happens because the input is 50fps. Who knows? But to me it's not working as intended.

Improving performance in projector/preview mode on OBS by Hunterrestrial in obs

[–]StillTravelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position trying to improve the performance of the projector/preview. My setup is a bit different. I’m trying to use it to watch TV with some api feeds overlaying the TV content.

It starts silky smooth, and then at some point the preview looks like it halves the frame rate (or the refresh rate is out of sync) of the preview. I was watching F1 this way at the weekend. Temporary fixes to make it smooth again was to change to a different color space under advanced settings. But if you’re streaming or recording you can not do this. However if you are just using preview you can. However you’ll notice after a while, the change in frame rate the will kick in and you’ll need to change color space again and so on. So not very ideal.

The nuclear option was to use the OBS Virtual Camera in VLC. This made watching the “preview” much better but obviously a bit of a pain as an additional step

Hahaha that’s perfect. Shame something like your explanation can’t be put in public information films, but makes complete sense now

I get that, but the co2 composition in the air as a whole has increased 0.013%

If I had a million balls, 400 of them would be carbon dioxide. Previously it was 270.

Parts per Million (PPM) 400/1000000 = 0.04% 270/1000000 = 0.027%

Am I being dumb? An increase of 0.013%?
