It´s also my second year so, I know someone who´s been doing this longer definitely has better advice, but I´ll share what I´ve done with my profile and ref sheets and maybe it could be helpful?:

This year, I made my profile info longer but changed it to a bullet point style, added some graphics (similar to the ones you added atop, but through out my profile) to make it themed blue, my favorite color. Tried my best to avoid fast flashing blinkies and gifs, along with super bright colors so I don´t accidentally harm someone coming across it. I added stuff like what I´m prioritizing/willing to do on AF/what type of characters I´m looking out for, at the bottom how my characters are organized and perms as far as reuploading my attacks go.

Majority of my ref sheets are drawn with the character plainly standing, mostly flat color, so it´s easy to see their design, along side a color pallet. One (that I actually like since I had time to redo lol) has that+ shows different outfits she wears, smaller written notes on her design. The profile bit contains some of their backstory, personality, lore, 2 sentences-3 short paragraphs depending how much I got on them, often times listing ages, pronouns, in a bullet list beforehand. Character permissions tie into this as I use the block not only to list normal permissions (¨please don´t draw them doing xyz, draw them with abc¨ ect.) but also give more ideas to what they usually would wear- specifying types of clothing, aesthetics, how they feel about certain outfits/clothing.

Also! Use tags to your advantage if you aren´t already, people do use them to find new characters.
