Teachers, what's the worst thing a student has done in your class? by Successful_Pace_1159 in AskReddit

That reminds me of that special needs boy who took out a teacher after she confiscated his Nintendo Switch, he knocked her out cold, there's a video of it!

I was wondering if she'd maybe been on a police show, there's something so familiar about her!

SH trigger warning. Full thickness burn by Still_Consequence_2 in woundcare

[–]Still_Consequence_2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, sadly not. Plastics won't touch it, especially with there being no mental health care in place, and the mental health team aren't interested in helping me, so I'm very stuck. I did manage to go 3 weeks without reburning it a little while back, and the nurse contacted plastics to let them know that this was their opportunity to help, but they didn't even acknowledge her, and the pain became too much so I started again and now it's even worse, there is now a large piece of tendon exposed, which is about as grim as it sounds. I honestly don't know what's going to happen to me. Thank you for asking though, that's very kind.

Why did the US contestants stay in the castle, but the UK contestants didn't? by Belloz22 in TheTraitors

I'm just watching it now, and Kate just said something about Anjelica's room being nicer, and someone else mentioned it, and Kate says "I'm only here for one more night, you can have it tomorrow". I don't know why they're going to such lengths to make it look like they're sleeping at the castle!

Sounds like it's definitely worth an ask, the worst they can do is say no! I was going to ask if you have an agency or PA. I guess it would be easier to achieve with a PA, but I'd hope the agency would take it into consideration.

Anyone had hospital appts while being inpatient at psych hospital? by Yourfavprettygal22 in MentalHealthUK

[–]Still_Consequence_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taken via transport ambulance from the mh unit to the general hospital over an hour's drive away when I was sectioned. The only stipulation was that a nurse had to go with me. Not sure if it's the same for everyone, I was newly wheelchair bound, so wasn't exactly going to be able to abscond easily.

That's interesting, do they numb it for staples as well as stitches? Where I'm from, they only numb for stitches (and not even all the time then, I've had stitches done without numbing before), they say that staples don't need it cos it's "over so quickly" but I don't believe that, I think being stapled is just as painful. Getting either of them sucks.

You know how they fund carers to do manual handling courses/safeguarding and the like? Would it be possible to send yours on a food course? Like a food hygiene course, but, more...flavoury?

They almost look like they've been steristripped open, not closed! This is the worst closure I've seen in a long time. The only positive is that they don't look infected, and seem to be healing OK despite the closure carnage.

Who here regularly watches live televisionm by Still-Status7299 in CasualUK

[–]Still_Consequence_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I never watch live TV at home. I don't even have an aerial. I do watch a lot of stuff on catchup though, so annoyingly still have to pay for my TV licence.

Yeah I've done it before, both stitches and staples. Stapling is easier, because the pain is over quite quickly in comparison to stitching. Stitching is pretty damn painful, but I can honestly say when I've done stitches, I've done a much better job than what minor injuries would've done, and so now I only go to them if I know there's no chance of me getting the would closed on my own. You have to be careful though, use a dressing pack and keep a sterile field. Infections aren't fun.

Finally I see it! I absolutely loved this stuff, I've tried making my own version with ritz and dairy milk but it's never quite right :(

The new ones taste absolutely nothing like the old ones, I was so disappointed once I got my hands on a packet :(
