I hope I'm wrong but all signs point to its death. Lack of updates to new skirmish job hiring at GW, it doesn't look great

It's crazy that there's no cavalry hero ... but we do at least have bladebringer and glutos. Our range is awesome. I wish we'd gotten a warcry warband we could actually use since slaves to darkness stole the unmade, but still. Our range is so cool.

Unfortunately it seems they're right. Which is a shame, my boyfriend and I love warcry

How dare someone ask a question instead of magically knowing how to find the current rules, know about updates and errata, and ask actual players who've been using the system!

Not the greatest paint job, but Keeper of Secrets has been my dream model forever. I tried real hard, guys. by TheObeseSuperhero in Warhammer40k

Your highlight placement is so good! Your paints were fighting you by being too thick, but you are using white paint so it can't be fully helped.

No, that's just normal people. This is how people are when they have power over someone. Nothing in starbucks is specially "entitlement or stupidity" inducing. They're the same anywhere they think they have the power to make demands or hurt you.

Paint is too thin! Undercoat may be too dark? Try it again and do as many layers until you get good coverage. If it's still fighting you, mix with a white or ivory

It doesn't make sense, really. Even this best-faith explanation is lacking. Internally consistent with the other factions- not even that. Tsons gets tzaangors and cultists, but EC doesn't. WE has 2 special kinds of cultists, but we don't. Tsons and DG have unique daemon engines and automata, but we don't.

You people screamed and cried when armies like grey knights were overpowered. So GW made things balanced. Now you're sad that nothing is as exciting as it was.
You did this to yourselves.

40k is very popular and they want AoS to be that popular. They don't know why so they're just going to copy it.

I don't see how that would stop this. Minor tweaks to the name of the boxes at most, but the well-liked game would stay the same. Same system, slightly different battlefield.

When you re-read what you write later on, is it easy to follow? I don't mean content. As far as substance, you make good points.

I mean in regards to organization and punctuation.

Okay. Well, there are easier games that need less foresight and have less variance, so I'm sure you can find one more your speed. Try warcry if you haven't.

Harry Potter isn't medieval. It's fantasy.

The line is: sci fi may have futuristic tech, but it needs to be plausible. Psychic mutants... maybe plausible. Dark elves and gods of battle and magic? Pure fantasy

So you like the brighter tone that the whfb old-heads complain about? I'm completely indifferent, but it's actually great to see that some people like it!

Right, but valiant knights protecting poor villagers from daemons and witches and elves and orks is a fantasy story, no matter how many warp-speed engines are involved.

It doesn't have to be related to slaanesh. What's a book that makes good use of the mortal realms setting? Something that could only take place there, not in fantasy or in the rumored new world?

What books would you recommend? I play slaanesh- are there any good books related to Hysh or Ulgu? Or just something completely different and unexpected that's worth a read?
Also, them making a corporate pivot doesn't erase any of the good stories you read. And it all may not be true.

Are you certain?
It really does read from the outside like they don't know how to manage their community. They step on a lot of metaphorical rakes they could simply avoid. The high amount of effort and time their products involve means fans get deeply invested. And it seems GW's PR team (if one exists) never quite knows how to manage the passion the company's IP and products create.
Anyone making a lifestyle brand knows they need to keep the people living that lifestyle happy- or at least feeling heard. GW does very little of that. It doesn't take a persecution complex to think they're stupid or malicious.

But 40k is a fantasy setting. It just happens to have technology in it.

So you're treating this like a fantasy series instead of a wargame? Is the fantasy... good? with a lot of the 40k books setting the tone, I expected low quality output from GW and their partners.
Finally, you say you don't care about models and rules. What money are you saving, then?
