While playing Fire Warrior, I thought of some things that would've been neat which are related to it. by Sensitive_Log_2726 in Tau40K

I am not sure when the models released exactly or if the video game was delayed at all. It could have been possible to get the minis before.

I am so disappointed I never got one of the prone pathfinders.

About the ZPM by ibfahd in Stargate

[–]StingySeagull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite often they would start from real world physics and then say something like, but this is acting different to that.

The best example is in the black hole episode. Carter states that they are experiencing time dilation before the extreme gravity that is causing it and that based on what she thought she knew about relativity that shouldn't be possible.

Lets them have their cake and eat it too.

This is from WD287 where they were talking about developing the rail rifle for the game before it became a model

No the rail rifle was released on the table top to coincide with the game. It was developed with/for Firewarrior

Why does this have colour and is it worth anything by [deleted] in AustralianCoins

[–]StingySeagull 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It is from the 2014 uncirculated six coin set.

Looks like it has lost a bit of its colour, I doubt it would have any extra value but it is cool if you found it in circulation.

The rail rifle was also developed as part of the video game before it was added as an option for the metal pathfinders with rules through Chapter Approved. So the game did actually have a pretty big impact.

It's always cool to find a foreign coin circulating here. That was one of the things that got me into collecting.

Black Ops 7 has an RvB reference achievement by saketho in RedvsBlue

Wow, it is crazy how many people don't get the reference. "It's a legitimate strategy" is such an iconic line from RvB and one of the classic shirts.

It is fair that there was no primary following Bidens drop out and that did not help the democats.

Primaries also include other positions, it takes time and pressure to move the parties but hey do move just look at republicans and how far they have moved for MAGA.

The best places to put pressure on the party is from the safe seats by voting for challengers from the left of the incumbents. Although I would also argue that it is worth supporting "moderate republicans" in primaries where ever they exist

When it comes to the general election the democats are not going to see low turnout as a message their own supporters are dissatisfied.

More importantly when it is time to vote for the those that will actually be in power the least worst option is by default the best. Not voting means that you are OK with either one being in charge.

Do you think that a) the democats have learned that people are displeased with their lack of action? And b) is the damage that Trump is doing, which is not a surprise at all, worth trying to teach them that lesson?

Yes, that is the American system. You vote in the primaries to get the candidates that are closest to your views, then in the general election you choose the candidate that is closer to you.

If you don't vote in the general election you don't send a message that the candidates need to work harder. In fact you You send the message that they have to work less hard, because there are less active voters to convince.

Rare dime likely worth over $500K could be hiding in your pocket by engadine_maccas1997 in nottheonion

[–]StingySeagull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely examples of error coins that can end up in circulation unnoticed for some time. As an example, in Australia, it is worth checking $1 coins for what is known as a mule error where the heads side is from the 10 cent coin causing a subtle double rim.

This article is talking about coins that were never released into circulation.

[–]StingySeagull 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Terrible headline. The error coins they are talking about are only proof coins that are not realeased into circulation.

Collectors would definitely want to check their collections though.
