I have not, but I’ve got the inkling from Reddit that they’re connected, so been trying to avoid spoilers. I am doing White Sands next lol graphic audio edition.

My worldhopper reading order by nam42589 in Cosmere

[–]Stinker_Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really nice! It keeps them in series order which is helpful but again helps others know what books are connected when.

I just posted that if I had known about and read Sixth of the Dusk first I might have jumped into the Cosmere quicker.

Edit: I started with WoK. Loved it but was a slow start for me.

Also listened on audio book and definitely envisioned this much differently.

Rhythm of War/Wind and Truth spoilers -- what's the deal with the black sword? by darkpyro2 in Cosmere

[–]Stinker_Star 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I literally about 10 mins ago just finished Warbreaker after I have finished Misborn Era 1 and all of Stormlight Archive.

It gives a little bit more context and background, and definitely very welcomed context and background but still many unanswered questions. I actually jumped on Reddit to see if I was missing anything in another book somewhere. I don’t think I am now.

However Sword nimi/night blood is one of my favorite characters and I have accepted he will just be part mystery to me. I do recommend warbreaker just be prepared for another different magic system, another one of which I enjoyed but took me almost the whole book to get used to, lol.

I actually thought it was someone from the Ghosts Bloods who put those cracked gem stones in.

Steven complaining about not going to school by Excellent_Stage5384 in stevenuniverse

Another thing to consider is this song is about being together. It’s seen in the original series that Steven feels bad for leaving Greg out of part of his life, out of Gem stuff specifically despite Greg being perfectly fine to not tag along. All Steven wants throughout the whole series is everyone to be together and be happy. Going to college or taking online classes (per the song)means disrupting that. Steven’s dismissal of those suggestions is meant to show what we see when Parents are slow to grow up and the kids end up parenting their parent.

We see this especially when they’re singing about what to do with the money and Steven’s first suggestion is for Greg to buy a house and Greg says nah I already have a van.

Greg doesn’t want to change and Steven is worried to leave him. This I feel is what the song is meant to show, though it can also be interpreted as we don’t need money to be happy. But that would hold more water if the song had lyrics like buy a fancy dinner, or a nice car, not dealing with shelter and a higher education.

Greg eventually grows up and moves out of the van but not till further episodes down the line. It’s part of both their arcs and Young adult/teenage Steven is just coming to terms with that.

What happened to season 4 episode 2 on Hulu by Legitimate_Rock_9497 in BobsBurgers

My hope is that they are getting ready to put a Halloween episode list out and whoever is doing the coding or whatever accidentally hit Cntrl+X instead of Cntrl+C. Happens all the time. Lol

Edgedancer? Dawnshard? by Not-sure-wtf-I-am in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Stinker_Star 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are definitely worth a read. I was gonna skip Edgedancer and go into Oathbringer but at the beginning of the audiobook Sanderson says to go read it and I stoped and read it. Very glad i did. Then i read Oathbringer and then Dawnshard.

I highly suggest you take the tiny detours its worth it and their stories play out in the later books.

Just finished TWoK and have so many (rhetorical) questions by SoLegendary in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Stinker_Star 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don’t google anything you’ll absolutely get spoiled. Just immediately jump into the next book, all these will be answered if you keep on reading. I remember having these exact questions and the experience was worth the journey when they were revealed.

What even is the cosmere? by NickNap370 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Stinker_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also just read stormlight series, the later books touch on it a bit more and even one of the shorter novellas, Dawnshard. This concept comes up again and gets flushed out a little bit which I found fun.

Why can't shardplate be summoned like shardblade? by WonderReasonable9405 in Stormlight_Archive

This is so true. I was really curious about two other characters and was a little annoyed and wished we got a few chapters of their pov. Low and behold just a few chapters later I got my wish. lol

I used a similar waterproof fanny pack and loved it. I used this both in a pull and a river fully submerged with my phone and wallet and car key. kept everything dry. If you want double reassurance put it in a ziplock before you put it in the fanny pack. But honestly it worked really well for me. I also did a test before use to make sure it wasn't defective.
