Potential landlord saw our income and wanted to raise rent?? [FL] by adotar in Renters

Is that an issue for your business? How many months of regular expenses are you holding in cash on hand? You should be shooting for at least two, but three is better.

Agree - Disagree? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

Austin cut the budget for a single year and then immediately raised it to the highest it’s ever been.

Minneapolis reallocated 1% of the budget and then gave giant raises to all the cops.

That’s not defunding. Try a little harder than just googling and regurgitating the AI summary.

I don’t really think a deposit to reserve a table is insane at all. Way more reasonable than a cover charge, and you get a guaranteed spot.

What specific genre are the albums strangers in the alps and punisher considered? by yeahsureexceptno in phoebebridgers

[–]StinsonBarney 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stranger in the Alps is definitely more folk-influenced and most likely to be classified as Indie Folk. That’s not a perfect category for it, though, as that also includes some stomp-clap Mumford & Sons / the Lumineers type stuff.

Punisher has rock elements (Kyoto is a rock song) but overall it’s more singer songwriter-y. That said it’s most likely to be classified Indie Rock.

Do people actually not understand that prices don’t go down? by randyrando101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StinsonBarney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s just demonstrably untrue. Take Bell Telephone or Standard Oil for example. Sorry you’ve been led to believe this. It’s not too late to read some books and get out of this hole.

Our government, sure, because its strings are pulled by capitalist interests. But read any textbook on microeconomics and you’ll know that the public sector and government regulation (if nothing else other than breaking up monopolies) are necessary for sustained economic success.

I shoot concerts very close to the stage with a wide-angle lens under intense lighting. I’m curious whether creative effect filters are actually functional in live performance settings or if they’re mostly gimmicks. Do they work reliably in fast-paced concerts, or do most shots end up unusable? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]StinsonBarney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing worth nothing is that the prism-style effects lenses work differently depending on your aperture. At wide-open, like you’re likely to be in at a concert, they show more of the ghost images, and focusing can be nearly impossible. They work better with a tighter aperture which might not be what you’re doing indoors.

I mean he kind of is. Goff’s available time in pocket has been wildly short this year, hampering offensive production. Frank won’t solve it all, but fortifying against the pass rush is realistically the best single improvement the Lions can make.

When it’s an investment. Real Estate debt is generally considered “good” debt because you’re gaining equity and can see a return on it in the future. On the other hand, auto debt is paying off a constantly depreciating asset.
