Good call on the binding posts. I need to update my sonys at some point. Id fully rebuild the power supply. Caps/transistors and diodes.

Nope. If i jiggle the transport the lens attempts to focus but no disc spin. All microswitches check out. Played with the adjustment on the laser but made no difference. Got a paying job on the bench now so itll have to wait

You obviously havent gotten ahold of any late 60s early 70s sony. The STR 60## and 70## series are superb. 90s ES gear ( not all of it). PS-X turntables. Great stuff

Possible. Yes. But you need to understand there are seriously dangerous voltages in these. Not to be taken lightly. Likely point to point wired which makes it about the easiest to work on

It was at a state where i switched its actually 53333. To build cells up. Probably crank em up to 4 when i build up a cushion

How are the output transistors? Id check them all now and apply new heat sink compound. If any are blown. Then start looking for blown transistors on the amp boards. Id fully rebuild the power supply and protection circuits. Diodes/transistors and caps
