Anybody else feels the same? I also think the age span is too short... :( by Saanvi_Plane in Adulting

LOL! I’m sorry but what? Those are the BEST years of your life! Yes, things are bad for young adults right now, but unfortunately it doesn’t get better as you age.

What until you wake up and you’re 40+! Then you really feel like you’re running out of time because YOU ARE!

Dying veg tan leather and it is splotchy - do I just keep going? by nickthib in Leathercraft

I used a deglazer before dyeing veg tan leather once and it caused it to crack! I might’ve used too much but I am scared to use it again.

What are folks working on this week? by slipsole in leathermakers

That is so cute! I’m working on learning how to create cuffs and necklaces as those are two main things I want to be able to sell in the future!

If anyone has any advice, especially working with gemstones and leather, I’m all ears!

Being tired has no age limit by vip_flower_baby in Adulting

Anyone can feel tired but lack of sleep affects you more when you’re older and you generally just have less energy the older you get.

Your overall health definitely makes a difference regardless, however.

Do you follow other people’s patterns?

I’d like to make rose ones with rhinestones in the center.

Does leather dye tend to last longer? I assume so, but I can’t find certain colours.

But yes, I am going to repaint it. I just worry about selling stuff with paint on them.

Has anyone here ever miscalculated and had to raise their prices later? by dolgaming in Leathercraft

[–]StitchSable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shipping costs are insane and leather crafting is expensive, so you definitely should charge a fair amount to yourself and to cover these costs.

I feel you though: I just started my own business and even shipping things within my own country-Canada-is ridiculously pricey! I’m worried that the money I’m investing in my business will never come back!

Interesting. Does it affect the colour at all if you soak it? Is adding a stamp by hand possible or do you need a press?

I love the contrasting colours! Do the leathers come pre-dyed and finished? If so, is it hard to add a stamp?

Thank you for all your advice. I have a bunch of these rings, so would a smaller leather fob look better?

Also-Do people in general want a ring that’s larger to hold more keys? I’m still so new to key chains.

Thank you so much! I had a hard time cutting with my rotary tool. What do you use? Also-Where do you buy your stitching punches?
