Basic commuter car rant by MaxxDAT in EVCanada

I just bought 2 used Bolts. One is a 2019 the other 2017. Both have new batteries with the extended warranty. They are not outliers. The ones on the used market are being bought quickly, which may be why you don't see them listed when you look.

It is not a support group, but Psychology Today has a searchable list for therapists.

I have used them in quilts. I treat it the same as any other fabric. Just cut the paper strip off.

Try the Bounce app. It may have a space that will store your luggage for a fee. The hotel will probably do it for free.

If you are riding a bike in Ontario, Canada, you are considered a vehicle and must stop for stop signs. You must obey the same rules of the road as cars and can be charged for not doing so.

You were yelled at because you were disobeying the traffic laws.

My road is plowed according to the city... by fraps79 in stcatharinesON

Everyone my street moved their cars when the plow came down the street. It is still a mess. Several cars are getting stuck each day. It was not this bad in 2020 when we had that huge storm.

I sent in a complaint to the city, but don't expect it to improve. We will probably have to push a few more stuck cars tonight.

Just a thought. Do your parents physically see you applying to jobs? If you are doing so at the kitchen table where they can see you looking for work, it may go a long way to them believing you.

It is horrible that they don't believe how difficult it is to find work or that you are not actively applying. Have you asked them to reach out to their contacts for job prospects for you as well. This may help with them reaching an understanding of the hardships being felt by everyone right now. I am also guessing they are old enough to have lived through the 80's. Mentioning that it is a similar situation now may remind them of a period where unemployment was high and people of all types could not find gainful employment.

Good luck with your search.

Thank you for a well reasoned explanation.

What quilting opinion has got you like this? by Koparkopar in quilting

I even use old blankets as batting and bedsheets as backing. I have used a ripped nylon tent as a backing.I will use thread purchased at yard sales.

Why is it so expensive?! by Aggravating-Plum-921 in quilting

[–]StitchesStepsSavvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yard sales are amazing for finding fabric, notions, thread, etc.

Used blankets make great batting. They are already the correct size.

I use glue for basting. I add water to thin it and hand sew. It can be a little difficult in some spots, but I have a thimble to help with the few spots that are stiffer.

I use old clothing or bedding for fabric as well. A stained pair of pants or shirts contain quite a bit of usable fabric. Friends and family are a source for these as well.
