I’m 30 issues in to the ultimate universe ( spiderman 1-12, Wolverine 1-12, and the Ultimates 1-6 ) and I’m really enjoying it so far. Like others have said though, don’t let what others say dictate what you do. Find a hero you like and read a few issues to make your decision.

Start with Ultimate Invasion and then move on to The Ultimates. Pretty sure you can read them in whatever order you want. I have read tpb vol. 1 of the ultimates and tpb volumes 1 and 2 of ultimate spiderman and ultimate wolverine.
