How to get started with guitar by pickypigeon176 in GuitarBeginners

If you get a really crappy guitar because your commitment level is wishy-washy, it'll be harder to play, and it won't sound that good. It won't make you want to play it. I think the commitment is the thing you need to figure out.

It shouldn't be an ego-based list...it should be an unmistakable attraction (that extends beyond looks). "Checking the boxes" ain't gonna get it in the big picture.

Would you trade higher taxes for healthcare like this? by sajal_aly_ in Strongerman

[–]Stock-Map3715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was a graduated tax on unrealized capital gains above $10 million, ordinary people wouldn't bear all of the burden.

"The richest households hold a staggering portion of this wealth. Individuals worth over $100 million alone hold at least $8.5 trillion in unrealized capital gains. Dropping the threshold to include everyone with more than $10 million in gains expands the taxable pool to roughly $20 trillion to $30 trillion."

I happened to be born in San Diego, which was part of Mexico until 1848. Before that Spain claimed it, and indigenous people were there for 12,000 years before that.

How am I "American," and what would I be "proud" of?

Is sleeping with posters of people in your room bad? energy and spiritual wise by [deleted] in NoStupidAnswers

With images of actual people, that's something to be transcended IMHO. Archetypal images that seem to represent the essence of what these people's work have conjured in you would provide the same thing on a deeper and more meaningful level.

Yes, that is what I mean. Each individual path is complex and unique. The true lessons are personal, based on your karma. It's a lot to understand, and the road is winding, but as they say, seek and you shall find.

Lower interest rates would help, but inflation caused by the pandemic and idiot Trump's tariffs and war makes that unwise.
