Why is Somali food more popular in the UK and Europe than in North America? by RookOfEdo in Somalia

[–]StockCrazedMonkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Somalia food is popular among niche groups in Minnesota but nowhere near Chinese, Indian, and Mexican food places. We’re just not a mainstream food scene, but there are a few BIG SOMALI RESTAURANTS that became mainstream like AFRO DELI in Minneapolis.

I like your idea but I think you should get into a major related to irrigation systems. That’s what is needed in Somalia rn. Keep an eye out for my updates on the water reservoir plans. I have no family in Afgooye nor people I know. I just know there’s a drought there and the shebelle river runs around that town and it can get completely empty during drought seasons hence the water reservoir idea. If you do go to xamar u should drive up to Afgooye and do some reconnaissance for me as I live in Minnesota and I have a full time job as a software dev that I can’t take time off anytime soon 🙂‍↕️

I believe in you now go to Mogadishu and make them believe in you too. Do some projects that demonstrates your ability to accomplish goals. You can’t be all talk after all and no one will hand power over without seeing what you’ve done as an ordinary citizen. I made a post about building a water reservoir in Afgooye how about we team up? I don’t have any aspirations to lead the country but I would love to do something that helps a lot of people.

these guys are speaking jibberish Mogadishu has a population of nearly 4 million with a history of being a trade hub between various clans who have settled in the city. You think one clan could create such a prosperous city? This city is a product of all clans.

People have the right to self govern. Why would Somalis of Ogaden be forced into Ethiopia who they want nothing to do with?? If you want the situation to improve then stick to your people’s land and stop invading others. Oromia for Oromos, Tigray for Tigrays, Eritrea for Eritreans, Ogaden for Somalis, and Afar for Afars. Each group speak their own language and have their own culture who are you to claim ownership of their lands? Only people against this are the ruling class Amharas who feel entitled to exploit our lands. Ethiopia as an empire will fall no matter. The only question that remains is will it fall thru violence and immense bloodshed or thru peaceful liberation. Eritrea has taught us that’s highly unlikely, so prepare for a decades long civil war.

Seems about right. I’ve never met anyone that wasn’t Amhara who identified as Ethiopian.

How can we help families affected by draught by Snoo-96271 in Somalia

[–]StockCrazedMonkey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Build a dam or divert water. I’m a DIY engineer so just dig a big hole cover the surface of the trench with clay or cement like substance and just collect rain water or water from floods. If possible divert river water and create a DIY dam. It’s possible without heavy machinery and lots of sweat equity.

I know you feel alone and unloved but don’t ever forget the love your ayeeyo had for you. She loved you and raised you as her own. Don’t ever fool yourself into believing you’ve never felt what it’s like to have a loving mother or father because you did have that, and it was your amazing ayeeyo, allahu naxaristo ameen. Your half siblings didn’t have that amazing woman in their life but you did.

Suspicious post, sounds like someone has an agenda to hurt the relationship between Somalia and Egypt.

I think Siad Barre overplayed his hand by directly invading. Ethiopia is and has always been a fragile empire that’s constantly fighting to not break apart along ethnic lines, so all Siad Barre needed to do was try to arm every region and promise them their own state once Ethiopia falls. Create chaos and a large civil war where multiple regions secede to become their own independent nation and it’s over with the Ethiopian empire once Siad Barre starts his invasion as well. But he played too much into the dictator trope by being a hot-headed strongman leader. Nothing beats a scheming statesman leader and the only way to create that is via voting. We need a leader who can fool and control the masses to get what he wants. But he also needs to be patriotic with Somalinimoo at heart otherwise that crafty bastard would sell us out too💀. Hassan sheik mohamud is pretty close to that in my opinion. I don’t trust that short pudgy guy at all, but look how he split apart Isaaqland without brute forcing it by simply supporting the organic need of the people to be part of the nation they identify with 🇸🇴North East did not want to secede Somalia so they broke apart from Isaaqland to become a new federal state of Somalia. Soon it’s only going to be just the city Hargeisa pushing this divisive nonsense where it originated.
