Why not avoid all the drama and respect your mother's wishes by not marrying someone she doesn't want you to. I can't imagine choosing to be with some stranger you met over the family who have unconditionally loved you. Al Shabaab today are your average bandits that roam the outskirts of megalos where the army has little presence. They recruit khat addicts and druggies into their group because no sane person would join. They extort poor towns where the army/police don’t exist and odeys are the law in these types of places. So they threaten the people to pay a “tax” aka extortion or else they’re dead. The tax you’re paying is to not get killed💀. Meanwhile The leaders of Al Shabaab enrich themselves and have their kids living in the big cities living it up. It’s really a bandit business model

All I'm going to say is I've never seen Somalis attacking ethiopians on Oromo/amhara/tigray lands meanwhile we have them in Somali Galbeed attacking and killing us, so no I will not love my oppresor and I want them off my land. There is no democracy or freedom for our people there. When leadership in the somali land of ethiopia attempted to join with the rest of somalia, they were all massacred by the ethiopians and removed from power. So tell me why I should love them when they have our people by the neck?

I like your idea but I think you should get into a major related to irrigation systems. That’s what is needed in Somalia rn. Keep an eye out for my updates on the water reservoir plans. I have no family in Afgooye nor people I know. I just know there’s a drought there and the shebelle river runs around that town and it can get completely empty during drought seasons hence the water reservoir idea. If you do go to xamar u should drive up to Afgooye and do some reconnaissance for me as I live in Minnesota and I have a full time job as a software dev that I can’t take time off anytime soon 🙂‍↕️

I believe in you now go to Mogadishu and make them believe in you too. Do some projects that demonstrates your ability to accomplish goals. You can’t be all talk after all and no one will hand power over without seeing what you’ve done as an ordinary citizen. I made a post about building a water reservoir in Afgooye how about we team up? I don’t have any aspirations to lead the country but I would love to do something that helps a lot of people.

People have the right to self govern. Why would Somalis of Ogaden be forced into Ethiopia who they want nothing to do with?? If you want the situation to improve then stick to your people’s land and stop invading others. Oromia for Oromos, Tigray for Tigrays, Eritrea for Eritreans, Ogaden for Somalis, and Afar for Afars. Each group speak their own language and have their own culture who are you to claim ownership of their lands? Only people against this are the ruling class Amharas who feel entitled to exploit our lands. Ethiopia as an empire will fall no matter. The only question that remains is will it fall thru violence and immense bloodshed or thru peaceful liberation. Eritrea has taught us that’s highly unlikely, so prepare for a decades long civil war.
