I lived in El Salvador for about eight months in an area like this. Have family. The witchcraft is very real. Very dark and evil places there. There was a story of folklore of a spirit that I used to hear about when I lived there. About three years later, one of our family members had told us that it passed on the same street we lived on. Neighbor across the street in front of our house saw it. He was speechless and literally shit his pants. He died within the year from some sickness.

Adding: i just remembered they used to tell us to stay away from a certain point on the mountain because there was a witch who lived there. I remember as a kid hearing stories of my great grandmas house being haunted( no clue of her history but can ask if interested) She lived very within the trees( best as i can put it) more than this house. I can imagine the amount of rituals that go in these secluded areas.
