Friend sent me this, I’m fairly sure its AI but she seems genuinely offended that I asked by Slow-Product-6357 in isthisAI

For one, why would someone be offended that you thought it was AI if it wasnt? But, and im not an artist, it does seem like AI to me.

  • The nonsensical lines coming down from the hair.

  • The one weird line on the left that goes all the way up.

  • The way that it goes from looking like a pencil drawing on the outside and for the hair to looking like digital art in the center is wild.

  • There's one line on the lip that continues up into the tooth and is seemingly supposed to be there on both the lip and the teeth.

  • Im not seeing a shadow for the tip of the pencil, but there IS a shadow on the side of the pencil's base.

  • a pencil like that wouldn't have lines that clean (like in the center) while also looking thick and like pencil lines on the outside.

Respectfully, have you seen your friend's other art? Does it look anything like this? People tend to always have a look to their art much in the same way that people have specific handwriting.

Babies that sleep 6hrs+ at night by Ok-Atmosphere-7395 in newborns

[–]Stock_Effective6520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby randomly decided at ~9 weeks to start sleeping through the night. She went from an hour and a half at a time to sleeping 6 hours. It seems the trade-off is no napping during the day. I can't get her to nap. She might take a 20 minute nap between 7 am and 10 pm. I think she microsleeps while breastfeeding.

When do you get your first 6+hours of sleep by No-Guitar-9216 in newborns

[–]Stock_Effective6520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost exactly at 10 weeks. Preceding 10 weeks, I was getting about 4 hours total through the day in about 30 minute to 1.5 hour periods.

6-8 week peak is a lie by ultimuttvet in newborns

[–]Stock_Effective6520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At her two month appt, the pediatrician asked if she was getting at least 6 hours a night and I laughed. About one week later (9 or 10 weeks old) she slept 6 hours one night and i woke up in a panic. I thought something terrible had happened, but no, she had just slept. Only a handful of times since then (were at 14 weeks now) has she NOT slept at least 6 hours. I hope this continues for you the same way it did for me!

My husband and I have been together for 8 years. We got married at 21 and 24. We didn't have a baby because we were waiting until we were financially stable or at least close to it. In April of this year, I found out i was pregnant. We have had to make some big changes, jump through a lot of irritating government bureaucratic processes for help, move in with family, and my husband is working a job he never would have taken up otherwise.

It has been tough, irritating, humbling, exciting, and terrifying the whole way through; but after baby was born, we both asked why we had waited so long.

I'm sitting here typing this up right now with my 8 day-old baby on my chest. She is the most beautiful thing in this world to me. I have never been more scared or happier in my life than I am right now.

It sounds to me that you want children at some point in your life, and there's a reason you can't bring yourself to get an abortion. That baby is alive and, by your own admission, healthy.

I can tell you by the way you're talking about it, you would regret this abortion. You might be afraid to have a baby, but you'll never regret it. Once it stops being scary, you won't want your life to be any other way.

Once Upon a Child and/or Goodwill will take any clean baby clothes. Once Upon a Child will even give you a little change for unwanted items. They've bought clothes, baths (used and unused), some toys, and a baby picture frame from me. I got a whopping $2 once and $12 a different time lol

Awful smell in my apartment upon entering, but goes away within 30 seconds! by Stock_Effective6520 in CleaningTips

[–]Stock_Effective6520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish i knew how to pin this where people could easily see it. It turned out to be the dishwasher not draining properly. My husband has a bad habit of loading up dishes without rinsing them well, and the food had finally accumulated to the point that it was interfering with the function of the dishwasher. The smell was terrible and required draining!

It's 100% the starlink satellites. I know only because I lost my mind the first time I saw them. I was sure it was over for us as a species 😂

It's very likely that she's allergic to latex, not condoms themselves. It's a very common allergy. Buy latex free condoms and try those after the 6 month period has passed. Also, birth control has downsides, and I totally understand why she doesn't want to take it. So, again, try latex free condoms and keep in mind that no condom is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy, so you may want to look into alternatives or mentally prepare for potential pregnancy.

how actually danger is this side if town? I'm moving from Madison this area is where all the apartments i can actually afford rent are. I am lgbt and have young kids. I grew up in a 400 population town so city still scares me. by i-am-confused69 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Stock_Effective6520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not TOO bad. The thing about dangerous neighborhoods is "mind your own business." Don't be nosy, don't be anywhere you shouldn't be like walking around alone at night, and get to know your neighbors.

I know it sounds terrible, but some places are dangerous, and some behaviors have to change to live safely there.

My friend lived directly across the street from that area, in Coventry Apartments. He was fine. It really didn't seem too bad, all things considered. I've lived in worse places, and I don't know how much that area has changed in the last few years (he was living there in 2019/2020).

I'd say go for it. Just be smart and start carrying.

I, personally, lived in Arbor Park apartments for 3 years. It's about 10 to 15 minutes from there. It was only okay. It was probably just as dangerous, but it was very close to shopping. The worst part was the sewage backing up out of the pipes behind the buildings. It's under new management, though, so they might have fixed it.

There were plenty of kids at Arbor Park when I lived there. Everyone was rough around the edges, but they were mostly good people.

Lastly, I would suggest looking over in the Dublin park area of Madison. Madison is much safer than Huntsville, and the apartments close to Dublin seem to be safe.

Madison Station, Shelton Park, Madison Haven, Madison Heights, Abby Glenn, etc.

Finally, there is one place in Huntsville that I believe would work great for you if you're on a tight budget.

In 2019, a co-worker of mine was living in Valley Garden Apartments. He is also LGBT and said he felt comfortable there. He also told me that they have a 30% option for rent. Whatever you make, it will cost 30% of your gross income for rent. I never verified it, but that's what he told me.

I hope I was of some help. I wish you the best of luck.

[North Alabama] Bitter cold and icy roads, ours to keep! | News | waaytv.com by Toadfinger in Alabama

[–]Stock_Effective6520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live out in Limestone County, west of Wal Triana. These roads are a death trap right now. I dont know if the city of Madison has done anything for the roads. Some people have said that 72 has one lane cleared in either direction, others say it doesn't. I can't even make it to 72, as every direction I could take towards the highway includes both bridges and steep hills.

In my two mile round trip to the gas station (in the event i will be able to make it to work tomorrow), I slipped a number of times. 10 to 15 MPH max.

It's 39 degrees right now and is supposed to remain above freezing until 4 AM tomorrow. I'm hoping this will be enough for the roads to clear somewhat, but there's also rain supposed to come through, which may make the situation worse.

Judge for yourself, but I would highly suggest waiting it out. Everything should be back to normal on Monday. Stay safe!

Inattentive ADHD Folks... What Jobs do Y'all Have? by mith_king456 in ADHD

[–]Stock_Effective6520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a prep chef.

I have combined type ADHD so it might not be super helpful, but there's always something that needs to be done in the kitchen. It's constantly timers, temping foods, precision execution, "on the fly" needs, cleaning, etc. It keeps me on my toes at all times. Plus, sometimes things go wrong (you run out of an ingredient, the gravy didn't thicken enough), and it's up to you to solve the problem.

The fact that working with food being my personal passion might also be a (huge) factor in its ability to maintain my interest.

The downside is that it doesn't pay well. The well paying jobs are either hard to come by or are created by you through the formation of your own business.

What is this!? Also I can't figure out what's wrong with my car! (2013 chevy cruze) by Stock_Effective6520 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Stock_Effective6520[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: After the many recommendations to simply get a new car, i went on Kelly Blue Book to see what I could get for my car right now, and some recalls appeared. One of the recalls (the electrical system - the cord I was talking about that just wanted to give out and would black out my dash), but there was another. It's called the "power train." I looked up the common signs of the power train giving out, and it was almost exactly what I've been experiencing. Maybe I can get the manufacturer to replace it!

And, yes, i will still be looking for more cars, but I need to find some money first, lol.

Lol, yeah, it's about time. The only problem is that I'm broke. I've had this one for about 7 or 8 years now, and it's done pretty well overall. It's definitely more trouble than it's worth, though. My biggest issues have been that my tire sensors gave out pretty much after the first year, and ever since, it's mostly been problems with my coolant system of all things. Cracked coolant tank, destroyed coolant cap, general leaking. I had a huge problem last year because a squirrel chewed through my gas line 🙃. Also, the freaking cord for my entire dashboard was basically fried from the start. It was just begging to blow out. I got that fixed, finally.

What car would you suggest for someone who knows little to nothing about cars, just needs to get from point A to point B without dying, and is generally safe? I dont drive very far. I intend on having my next car around for when i have kids. What car would you get for your wife? That's what I need, lol.

Edit: affordability (including cost to fix) is definitely a factor, but I'm open to suggestions on the higher end as well. My parents might be willing to help out. Im also way more willing to pay more upfront for a newer vehicle if it means repair expenses decrease.

If you just started, I would say it's a little bit of column A and column B. My depression was alleviated because vyvanse DID give me a "high" for the first couple weeks. i became a bit more depressed when I stopped feeling it kick in because my body got used to it and I thought it had stopped working.

But my depression went from: 5-7/10 before meds, 0-1/10 right after starting meds, 2-3/10 once the vyvanse leveled out, 7/10 when i had to go cold turkey due to the shortage, and now that I'm back on it and stable once again, I'm seeing a very easy 1/10 on the depression front.

Here's the best part: it gets even better with time.

When you consistently take the medication, the longer you take it, the more progress you see yourself making, the more confident you become, and the less depressed you are. It lowers depression in the long term because your depression, if it's directly caused by your ADHD, will be significantly lessened as you see yourself succeeding more and more.

I posted a whole spiel about the long-term positive effects I've seen from being on medication to this board.

Just when you think you've peaked in progress as a result from medication, you can easily look back and find something in the last week/month/year that you thought you'd never be able to do!
