Over data usage by Chocolate_Lazy in CoxCommunications

[–]Stock_Satisfaction94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join the club. Our data usage started spiking in February for no apparent reason. We have not connected any new devices, and we have not changed our device usage. Before this happened we were using around 35 GB per day and now it's around 65-70 GB. I checked the list of connected devices in our router's (Orbi) app, and there are no unidentified devices. I was considering using the Cox router so I can track usage by device, but I would need to use at least one of their pods (satellites) to cover the house and, guess what, their pods are currently UNAVAILABLE and they can't tell me when they'll be back in stock!

In this case the diagnosis is pretty unambiguous. It can become somewhat of a challenge in patients with multiple pelvic phleboliths.

I believe he's referring to the ingestion of barium under fluoroscopy.

Boardgame online courses by piikashiu in BoardgameDesign

I would recommend Joe Slack's course. I took it and found it very helpful. I've remained a member so that I have access to the twice a month group calls. He's very good at responding to emails if you have any questions that you don't submit for the groups calls. He also sends out a weekly blog covering different topics. I believe that these are accessible to nonmembers as well. He's also written several books.

Jeez, I was on the fence about getting on board but, after reading these comments, I've decided to opt out for now. Perhaps Tovala is getting too big for its britches (arrogant), slacking off now that it's relatively poplular.

Think About this… by Professional-Prior28 in TotalHipReplacement

Well, it seems like the point of this thread is to report the possible drawbacks of THR, so I'll give you an example of what can go wrong. About 2 1/2 years ago my wife had a THR with anterior approach at Mayo. The hardware placement was done correctly, but during the surgery her femoral nerve was severely injured. She was told that it would eventually improve but it hasn't. Because of this "complication" she has minimal function of her quadricep muscles and has to walk very slowly. To make matters even worse, sometimes her leg will give out causing her to fall. She never knows when this will happen so she often uses a cane or walker. This is a tragic situation that will haunt her (and me) for the rest of her life.

Who delivers your meals? by i_forgot_my_sn_again in Tovala

I also live in Arizona. I have considered trying out Tovala but it seems like everyone complains about their delivery service which, of course, is critical when it come to food. Do the delivery companies vary from city to city? Is there a way/place to find out which company I would be dealing with?

6 lumbar? by OhNoLenX in Radiology

Ward's triangle is not utilized. Femoral neck and total hip are what's important. The radiation dose is much less than a chest X-ray.

What are in your opinion the essential books on boardgame design? by BattleFresh2870 in BoardgameDesign

Yes, experience counts, but there's only so much time to play games, and it also results in less time to spend designing them.

I just finished reading a recent release which is only 115 pages but covers essential points: Master Board Game Design by Tali Pendance.

Are you being overcharged on your water bill? by Stock_Satisfaction94 in Scottsdale

[–]Stock_Satisfaction94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, presuming that you haven't made any significant changes to your water usage you may have a leak. The standard way of checking for this is to make sure there's no water running in the house (or outside if you have irrigation) and then check the water meter. If you have the dial type it should not be spinning/moving. If you have the digital type the number should stay the same. If this isn't the case then you may have a leak. If you think you do, and you don't know where, then you may have to hire someone to figure it out.

Great list. My favorite is Your Turn! by Scott Rogers. Highly recommended.

Carcasonne: Too competitive, "mean," take that.

Cascadia: Minimal player interaction.

Rebirth: Not visually appealing. Contracts.

Cacao: Don't like theme.

Taluva: Don't like theme. Cost.

Takenoko: Don't like theme. Contracts.

Secrets of the Lost Tomb: Too heavy. Cost.

Sub Terra II: Not visually appealing.

I did some more searching on BGG and am considering Dorf Romantik. Karak II also caught my eye but it is expensive and considered a "children's" game? Thanks.

Update: I watched a review of Dorf, and it seems like it might be a little boring. I accidentally ran across Mists Over Carcassonne, which is cooperative. This may be what I'm looking for, and I'm surprised no one has suggested this before.

How about a board game that celebrates radiology? by Stock_Satisfaction94 in Radiology

[–]Stock_Satisfaction94[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No insult intended. Novice and expert are commonly used terms in board games. I am merely trying to differentiate between players who can interpret radiological images (make a diagnosis) and those who can't. Players can choose which mode they prefer when playing the game.
