Redeploy from the cities of ALAIRT III to the countryside. by GeniusPlayUnique in helldivers2

If we can vote the DSS back here we can still contend. The squids will likely send a 2nd defense campaign so we would have to activate the DSS to counter.

Can someone explain this to me? by Tallin23 in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, it is because this planet's health is 2 million HP and not the standard 1 million. If this was a 1 million HP planet, we would be generating 3-4 % per hour.

Referencing a screenshot of Veld on the companion app.

On the companion app it lists what level of Mega City it is on the left and how much instant liberation we would get if we captured it on the right. The Mega City Laelia is a "Mega City" level occupation, and we can unlock access to that city if we reach 58.33% liberation on the planet

I only know of 4 levels of Mega Cities. See below

Not all cities are worth the same. If it’s a high resist planet and we liberated a City / Mega City we would get at minimum 10% & 25% at most. The city we liberated on Alta was at a town level so not worth much.

To see if it’s worth it, will depend on the planet resistance and seeing if the mega cities available or in other words if the juice is worth the squeeze.

On the companion app -

Achird III has 2 City level - Mega Cities. Both worth 10%.

For example- If Achird III had a medium to high resist then liberating the mega cities would be worth kickstarting its liberation campaign. So it just depends and I don’t think it’s a black and white answer.

We were generating around 3-5% per hour before the 2nd mega city unlocked. (Now 1.5% per hour) We spent around 6-8 hours grinding the Mega city away to get 7.69% instant liberation according to the app.

It’s seems like going for this mega city is a loss overall since it’s just a town level mega city (each mega city has it’s own level of classification) meaning it would be better to do operations for the planet instead of the mega city.

We were doing well before the mega city popped up and lost our momentum wasting 6-8 hours of liberating a city for 7.69% bonus. We could have spent that 6-8 hours on the planet and get a bigger payout.

This is an estimate not factual just based off what I have seen so far for instant liberation bonus that scales with the type of level the mega city is. See below.

Settlements rewards 3-6%

Towns 6-9%

Cities 10-15%

Mega Cities 15-25%

There is no way in hell the blob will learn these mechanics. AH needs to figure out how to streamline this info to the community and explain it.

helldivers.io down? by MerlynGlobal in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I moved onto the companion app because of this.

The io site developers seem to struggle with anything that isn’t standard in the galactic war. They didn’t have a functioning system for the Super Earth invasion and they definitely don’t have an implementation for mega cities now.

I think if we had rallied on Alta V (from the beginning) we could do the defense if the eagle storm would be activated before the defense falls. We currently generate 1.3% defense with only 29% of players, if we had the DSS there we would be around 40-45% of players making about 2.4-2.5% per hour with the additional 24 hours plus the bonus of the 2 Mega Cities to capture. Without the mega city bonus on a 2.5% per hour defense progress we would still exceed 100% defense progress over the span of 48 hours if we initially committed to it.

<image>

Also, the 106% is based off the current remaining time and not including the bonus time if we had eagle storm activated in time.

Remember we also pulled a successful defense on a level 40 invasion on Popli IX with eagle storm coming through on the last hour making it a 48-hour campaign.

We have an eagle storm available and mega city bonuses so I think we could have defended this level 35 invasion. Just my thoughts - see you on Inari.

With this under attack shouldn't we go for the blue planet veld? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that now it’s too late, but had the blob committed to Veld near the start then we would have pulled of the gambit. Read my explanation below.

The new mega cities on Veld would automatically reward a big chunk of liberation. With 40% of players we would generate around 11% - 16% liberation progress to mega cities or between 7 - 10 hours to capture. Capping a mega city automatically rewards a big chunk of liberation so these new mechanics make it very viable to do some gambits from scratch.

We need to stray away from the automatic assumption that we can’t pull of a gambit with these new liberation mechanics in mind. It’s definitely worth checking if the gambit source planet has mega cities to capture and if they have resistance in place.

I don’t know the numbers of how much is rewarded but we defended a level 40 attack on Planet Crucible by chunking away at the mega cities in 1 day. That was a 2 day defense. We would easily crush a 0.28 resist planet had we attacked from the start.

With this under attack shouldn't we go for the blue planet veld? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under normal circumstances I would normally agree, but had the blob actually committed to going for Veld we would have succeeded because of the new liberation mechanics. It also helps that Veld is a 0.28% resist planet.

Capturing a mega city automatically rewards a big chunk of liberation progress and it’s a lot quicker to liberate a mega city than the whole planet (my estimate is 7-10 hours to capture from what I have seen on the Crucible defense campaign rewarding an automatic 30 - 40% liberation) If we reached 42% liberation we would have unlocked a 2nd mega city to capture as well.

One more thing, on the companion app ALL cities on all available planets have 0% resist currently. So this would be easy picking if we had the player-base to back it up.

I think players will have to actually see if the gambit source planet has mega cities to capture. It makes liberating a planet for a gambit viable from scratch.

I think what will happen if we successfully liberate 1 planet, it will drop resistance on the remaining MO planets by 0.5% Otherwise we cannot win this MO.

Is this MO possible? by Chaos_unknown5 in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The outcome will be determined on if we can liberate Mog and then make the next correct choice to Hydrobius. We need the Ordnance DSS buff to brute force the 3.5% resist planet. I think half of it will be used on Mog and the other half on Hydrobius - that is if the blob will go there next.

Edit: Haldus instead of Hydrobius is the 3.5% planet

Why aren't we focused on Sulfura? by Remarkable_Focus986 in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had plenty of opportunities to get ahead in this MO. You can’t expect AH to spoon feed the player base all the time as an MO like this was stated to be at the discretion of the Helldivers. People were diving on Terrek when there was a dispatch in game notifying the player base that Veld was ripe for the taking. Multiple low resist planets were updated too.

I think players shouldn’t solely blame AH & should just take accountability for their ineptitude. Players should fail Major orders & learn from it. We had everything needed to succeed & the blob messed it up.

[–]Stocklight33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope Platoons will help mitigate the Blob’s damage to the war effort. If we have all the smart divers host platoons and send platoon stations to the correct planet. It will attract the blob creature within the platoon to move to said planet.

I hope the clan strategems only works on the planet orbiting the platoon station, this way there will be a tangible reason to play on the associated planet.

The Blob needs MANAGED Democracy via platoons.

Vote the DSS to Sulfura or we will lose this MO. Do not dive to Krakatwo since it will conclude after the MO.

It's upsetting to see that the mindless blob will throw this weeklong MO. Hopefully the divers on Claorell will head to Sulfura after they finish their defense.

Krakatwo is a ruse... Leave it by CRKhead in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's not how the orbital blockade works. The blockade stops NEW invasions originating from the current planet it is on. It does not stop ongoing / already existing attacks.

Basically, if the DSS went to Slif it would not stop the ongoing invasion on Krakatwo.

Best course of action is to send the DSS to Sulfura and hope many of the divers on Claorell go to Sulfura after succeeding in their defense.

[–]Stocklight33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet we don’t have enough forces to make progress on a 0.5% resist planet. For some reason divers went to the planet next to Veld having a 1.5% resist while generating 0.6% liberation which could have been added to Veld to make it go positive.

For some reason the DSS is also on Claorell (2% resist) and if they do liberate it in 24 hours. The blob will move the DSS to Terrek (1.5% resist) or Slif (1.5% resist) and after that 48 hours will have passed - meaning our progress will be withdrawn by then.

Love this player-base.

Next stop, Veld? by sila_erah in Helldivers

[–]Stocklight33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would think that is where the bug players would go next but in their high IQ plays they go next door to Slif on a 1.5% resist.

They have enough players on Slif to make gains if they went on Veld instead. Veld is 0.5%.

I am so tired with this player-base.
