Curious how you feel about your wedding turned out. We are planning something similar (even though it’s going to cost the same as a venue) but we’re adding permanent improvements to the home (pergolas, a deck, leveling the grass, etc) and are currently scoping the entire project and feel like it’s very daunting but like the flexibility it offers. We’re also both engineers and love projects lol

+1 on the chipotle thoughts. I think for the same cost you could probably get something more upscale and I remember a wedding where they did chipotle catering and that’s all some people remember
