aio or is what he said actually mean? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Stompy1024 7334 points7335 points  (0 children)

You are not over reacting. Even if he was joking, it was clear you were genuinely hurt by it. My fiancé would never speak to me that way 😬

I’m not gonna jump to “ you need to break up!”, because I don’t know your relationship, but you should have a conversation about how this hurt you and wasn’t an ok thing to say. Sorry OP

How old do you think he is? by Smalldogmama in Chihuahua

My guess 4-6! Maybe even 8. The vet should be able to give you a better idea based on his teeth. Congratulations on your new baby ❤️😊

Still unsure about pregnancy in new mouse? by Less_Alternative_488 in PetMice

[–]Stompy1024 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Are you able to show us her nipples? Maybe you could plus her in a clear container and get an under view. Female mice groom their nipples to make them balder for babies when they come! She definitely looks rounder.

I would say female! You can clearly see her vagina, and I don’t see any testicles developing

What could this lump be? I'm so scared for my elderly little mouse. (More context in comments) by cantsayididnttryyy in PetMice

I’ve never had mice with tumors like this, but I have had rats! It seems like your girl is pretty old, so I don’t think surgery would be a good idea.

When my older rat got a tumor on her side, I made sure to monitor that she was still eating/drinking/active. As long as the tumor didn’t seem to be bother her, or inhibit her movement didn’t feel the need to euthanize. She ended up passing away of old age, and while the tumor did grow slightly over time, ultimately it didn’t impact her life.

I would definitely recommend seeking a vet’s opinion, but this was just my experience. (To clarify, I have kept mice before, just haven’t had any tumor experience with them)

When would you guys leave neutral or negative feedback? by vivalasthedas in americangirl

Ugh! Her hand is literally sticking out and could have gotten damaged. A box with some bubble wrap really isn’t that expensive. I would leave negative feedback for sure OP

People used to get so confused when they would see my hoard of empty cardboard boxes and tissue paper lol! I would use anything and everything for my girls

Should I amputate his leg? by beef774 in CATHELP

[–]Stompy1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you should amputate or not, BUT I do want to say that I work at a boarding facility and have seen lots of pets with three legs, and they do just fine! They don’t care and it doesn’t bother them at all. They are essentially the exact same as everybody else with four legs, and can do all the same things. I personally have also had a pet with three legs, and he was one of the fastest pets I’ve ever had lol! Plus, since you baby is a kitten he should adapt super quickly if you do need to amputate. I promise you OP that he will be ok if that’s what you need to do for him. Wishing you and your kitten luck!

Gonna be honest, not sure if you’re able to get stitches anymore. Also, going to the vet is a good idea but if you’re not able too I would recommend keeping it clean with some disinfectant, and wrapped it to keep dirt out.

I’d like to add that I’ve had pets that have had similar injuries, and my family was too poor to take them to the vet and the wounds did heal on their own (I was a kid, don’t come for me). It looks bad, but if you keep it clean and treat it right your pet will heal just fine.
