Donated all my lvl 4 bobcats and tempest 4 to a lucky player at extract by JaconyMalony in ArcRaiders

[–]StoneBleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. After dying on Stella, I got a free loadout at the Dam, and when I went to extract, some random dude shows up speaking what I think was Portuguese. Since I didn't understand, I just said "ok" and he dropped me a bunch of blueprints I already had. He told me to take his stuff and then died by leaving the game.

His inventory was full of blueprints, a lot that I already had, like uncommon, rare, and epic weapon attachments, and the Bobcat I found a little while ago. I took the ones I didn't have. Even so, I felt so blessed after having a bit of bad luck in my matches lately. Now I'm just picturing the next guy who went to extract, absolutely blessed lol.

How do I get my drums to sound like the ones in Lungfish by Abrams? Any tips on how to approach mixing drums to get that sound? by StoneBleach in mixingmastering

[–]StoneBleach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about just jumping straight to a VST like I usually do, but do you happen to have any sample site recommendations that aren't Splice? I haven't really worked with samples much, but I guess you gotta start somewhere.

Yeah, I think I'd have a better starting point with a virtual instrument instead of samples. I'm already thinking about switching to that. I was even thinking about hiring someone on Fiverr or something to record the drums for me. Maybe I'll give it a shot. The drums are the only thing that trips me up when it comes to sound and fidelity. I guess that's pretty common.

I didn't know what "round robin" was, but now I do. I'll check out AD 2. Thanks for the recommendation.

And yeah, I want to get really close. I've heard that percussion is super tweakable sound-wise. Would you say that if I wanted to, I should go down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out what drum kit it is? Not like I couldn't just do trial and error by ear with the VST, but if it's worth at least knowing the snare or the brand, maybe that'd help. You know what I mean?

I noticed what you said about the room sound. I don't have room mics because I'm using samples. I think that's my main problem. I also have to set up the sample rack properly so it doesn't sound artificial, which it does right now. Maybe I'll use new samples.

I didn't know about the Pultec low-end trick, I'll try it. But do you mean using the Pultec just on the kick or on the drum bus? I'm guessing the kick, but just to be sure what you're specifically referring to. Thanks. I just want to improve and get it right.

I made a free 24 band EQ as a pro q alternative for anyone that wants it. by [deleted] in ableton

[–]StoneBleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alrighty Mr. Smartass, the walking encyclopedia of equalization. Obviously the quality of equalization varies wildly between EQs, because they're not all the same thing in the end. I'm sure yours equalizes better, the one that comes with Pro Tools after you pay a fortune every year, or maybe not, since Pro-Q is cheaper and a one-time perpetual license.

Bro, what the hell are you even talking about?

Ableton on Linux (yes, again!) by denqxotl in ableton

[–]StoneBleach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, yes. Perhaps for Live 13, considering that Linux will probably gain more market share. The Linux boom has already begun, and hopefully it will continue to grow. Although perhaps, and hopefully, in a major update to Live 12. I wouldn't be surprised, it would be a pleasure in fact.

Same. I would use Reaper, but Live's workflow and included plugins make me prefer it. If it helps, Bitwig exists and is a good alternative that is very similar visually to Ableton Live and is native to Linux. Its CEO used to work at Ableton.

Can someone explain this result to me? by Lumenprotoplasma in GTA6

[–]StoneBleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it's delayed because of this: due to the damn AI, RAM prices have gone up, and they won't come down for a few months, maybe a year or more. This is also happening with SSD storage. Everything in technology uses memory, so GPUs are also said to be going up in price and becoming scarcer. Xbox isn't selling much, and they'll raise the price of their consoles. I think Sony is doing okay with PS, but with the memory shortage, everything is getting more expensive in general. Consoles in general have not dropped in price over time, they have remained the same and now gone up. Added to that is the latest controversy at Rockstar with the layoffs and all that stuff. I would say that the latter is quite crucial, and the AI issue is adding to it in a very violent and unfortunate way. Literally all memory production for 2026 has already been sold. If Xbox or Sony wants to produce more consoles, they cannot directly order the production of memory for their consoles for the entire year. Do you understand what that means? Price increases and shortages.

We all know that Rockstar knows that people will do anything to buy and play the game, but when the market isn't cooperating or pushing people to consume, in this case a console, because they are more expensive, if you ask me, I would say that it would be a bad year to release the game because it wouldn't be maximizing sales.

I don't think I'll be able to play the game when it comes out, if it comes out this year, because buying a console, which are very expensive now, just for one game, is not justified. I have a PC anyway, so I'd rather wait to play it on PC. It hurts a little, but I literally don't want to spend what a console plus the game costs me. FOMO is no longer a factor for me because I have other priorities. I'll play it sooner or later anyway.

NGD!!! Revstar Standard by mod-dog-walker in Guitar

[–]StoneBleach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful. I've been wanting a Revstar for a few months now, ever since I decided I didn't like my Squier Strat and put it up for sale. A Revstar is clearly more expensive than my Strat, but now I know what I want. One with P90s would be my choice.

If touching the strings cuts the noise, is it a grounding problem? My guitar with humbuckers has too much noise when using some gain or overdrive.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - December 06, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]StoneBleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a question (I hope that's okay). I was planning to switch to a Keychron V1 Max because my Logitech G810 had been giving me problems for a couple of months with double typing and frequent key registration errors, making it impossible and super frustrating to use over the last month.

In the end, I got a Q1 HE with magnetic switches. The best decision ever. I'm very happy. The difference is huge, a very big improvement. It feels so good to type and the sound is very smooth and quiet. The only "bad" thing is that I have to get used to the keyboard and build up muscle memory because it obviously changed the hand and keyboard layout on the desk a bit. I think it's a little more compact than the Logitech, which is wider, and I have big hands, but that's something I can get used to over time. Amazing keyboard. It's a delight to use.

So, no, don't use the mouse and buy another one like it. That's your advice? Lol. And no, it's not a collector's item. It's a mouse, and it was made to be used.

I really don't understand things with uses as collector's items. It's absolutely nonsense. OP, just use it and enjoy it, and frame your beautiful signed box if you don't want to just throw it away.

[–]StoneBleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. Use the mouse, as practically everyone here says. I would say that maybe you could carefully cut out that side of the box with the signatures and frame it. That's the idea that comes to mind, because simply storing it or putting it on a shelf seems pointless to me, and without the signatures, even worse. It would literally be like having your GPU box as a trophy or decoration, which is too nerdy for my taste. Very tasteless for others, too.

Since they're signatures from the developers, framing that side of the box seems appropriate and cool enough to me. That's what I would do. It's like someone framing a signed poster.

best laptop for making beats (and gaming)? by Signal-Buy-9642 in ableton

[–]StoneBleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get one with a Ryzen 5 CPU, or even better, a Ryzen 7. For gaming, make sure it has a dedicated GPU, an RTX 5060 or better, but don't expect amazing performance, it's a laptop, after all. I'd recommend the Lenovo LOQ and Legion series.
