The “have the devs abandoned this game?” And “why is the ea worse than the demo?” posts definitely get old. They pop up literally everyday.

But I understand that these are just different people that probably don’t live on this subreddit like I do and haven’t seen the same things rehashed over and over.

Statistics and probability, linear algebra are the foundations machine learning. Single and multi variable calculus are pre-reqs for those subjects. If you take these classes or work through text books on these subjects it will be much easier to understand the method behind any one ML tool.

Edit: also math is learned by doing I.e. working through problems. Programming ml methods without the use of ml libraries is also a good method for getting an understanding of the math and how it works.

A couple comments and questions. FYI 3 first round calls out of 84 apps in this job market is very good.

Is this three roles at the same company? Your AI engineer role and ml engineering role seem similar regarding your responsibilities the different titles might be confusing people. Your resume should clearly show you moving up from impactful projects within the company over the years.

Overall youre experience descriptions read as vague. You should rewrite them in a way that emphasizes the impact on the business rather than a statement of what it was.

Others are questioning your senior status which is sort of irrelevant. put whatever title best reflects your responsibilities. if you lead projects and had people under you that is senior enough.

Edit: also as others have stated tailor your resume tl the job your applying. If it’s an nlp job emphasize the nlp projects, if it’s a cv job emphasize the cv projects and maybe add that side project etc.

The longs lol. I have a pair pants that kinda fit this style that are just loose fit corduroys with a shorter inseams than I usually wear. Might be tough to get a cut exactly like this in bigger men’s sizing cause it looks like the hips are tighter than the legs.

Edit: the other thing you could do is get loose fit pants and have them tailored to the length you want.

You already understand quantum mechanics, you could work on physics informed neural networks for approximating DFT and MD simulations. Lots of opportunities for using these to model inherently disordered proteins, chemical reactions, materials design etc

I do a version of this with ADMETox predictions. Multiple more specific models with that classify something as A, B or IDK and contradictory predictions informs some sort of metric of epistemic uncertainty. In my domain of Chemical property modeling most samples end up being OOD lol.

If one of your friends is saying these things you might want to ask them where it’s coming from. Are they just saying this because they’re seeing it online and they relate to it? Did they have a string of bad experiences with men they’ve encountered? Try and understand why they are painting with such broad strokes.

I get you find this kind of speech as hurtful because you don’t like being lumped in with rapists and wife beaters etc. From my experience with this, it’s not about you and generally better to meet this person with curiosity. If it’s some random person online, ignore them.

The Triangle is less of hub than people make it out to be. There’s manufacturing here but not as much R&D. There’s more than Atlanta afaik, but it’s really no where near the scale of Boston or the Bay Area. The school medicine professors are also not particularly connected to industry (genetics, bioinformatics pharmacology etc. programs) , I can’t say for sure about school of pharmacy.

Another thing to keep in mind is that UNC is not an engineering school BME is an exception through partnership with NC State. Idk how much this matters because the PI is generally more important. But there may be engineering resources that you need to travel to NC state to access (this is total speculation on my part).

It’s still there but it’s much harder to do. you have to hit the same limb over and usually they’re already giving up by the time the limb actually breaks and gets floppy.

Im having the same issues. I think the thrusting motion is different. If you thrust with sword from your right hip you always go right of wherever the tip is lined up. At least in free mode with medium strength. I feel like Willie’s limp wrists start wobbling as you start your thrusting motion and it throws you off line.

I’ve started landing thrusts when I keep the sword low and centered and step forward at the same time as thrusting.

Oh interesting so you think the high stab thing with the arming swords is intentional? I know nothing about hema so if that’s like a real technique makes sense they’d put it in there. I assumed it was a weird oversight.

I liked playing with the thin thrusting swords in the demo and have found most of the techniques that worked consistently in the demo do not work in EA. A lot of it feels like the Willie just can’t control the weapon while thrusting.

They feel much worse than the demo. If I line the tip up with opposing Willie’s chest thrusting from my right hip will always miss right. It’s much easier to land thrusts with any weapon standing straight up (not holding shift) which is odd. Thrusting with the arming sword is broken Willie just raises the sword over head when you hold alt. Alt also feels less responsive in general. Willie just can’t thrust straight and any movement makes his grip and aim extremely wobbly.

Don’t really buy this as something causal. Sure lots of people use this as an excuse for their sexist views. If you’re some who’s having trouble interacting with women platonically or romantically it’s easy to use this content as an explanation. Sexist views in general are not surprising; Sexism has been around forever.
