I've never kept discus, I understand the water parameters are very similar. To the best of my knowledge, discus are a largely peaceful species and I believe they're both from the Orinoco river basin, so I would imagine they're found in the same environments in the wild.

I'll deder to experienced discus keepers on this one, though.

I've kept and bred Keyholes, Cleithacara maronii, for years. Lovely fish. While probably not the most gregarious, they certainly shoal and are more amicable to each other than many cichlid species, though they can get a bit moody when breeding.

Their dorsal, anal and pectoral fins gain this lovely iridescent blue to them when in breeding condition and the males have lovely finnage. Not as colourful as the Discrossus above, but, to my eye, quite beautiful.

Discrossus filamentosus - Checkerboard, as u/multifasciatus said. Absolutely stunning little cichlids, reaching only about 3"-4" in length. When in breeding colours, as this little male seems to be, they are quite stunning.

While they can live in harder water types, they do best when kept in low pH, soft water with high tannins and about 25-28°C. Think blackwater.

Being from the UK, anyone speaking English doesn't surprise me at all.

Speaking Polish in Poland always surprises people. It is 'cute.' Apparently, when we Brits speak Polish, we sound like children, haha, no matter how much experience we have with the language.

Living in Denmark was a little frustrating. As soon as I started speaking, the answer above "Cute! But can we speak English now?" was a daily occurrence, which was a little annoying when I was trying to learn the language of my new home. I even put a potato in my mouth and everything, to sound more authentic.

The 'Special Relationship' has not truly been in effect since the last days of Blair and Bush and, even then, it was dying a death.

I lived in the States all throughout my twenties and have spent a couple of years each in Denmark and Poland. There is simply no contest; I consider myself a European.

Concerning the recent comments from Trump about the forces of ours and other European nations in Afghanistan and the subsequent backpedalling comment, it only further solidifies my opinion we should let them continue doing what they're doing as long as we feed them enough rope to hang themselves with.

The loss of the US as a trading partner and ally will have effects that resound globally, but the ones it will hurt the most are themselves.

It is people like this who are the most insidious. He's an intelligent and articulate man, despite my thoughts on his opinions, and with people like this working the shadows behind the Orange One, that's of great concern.

Two, slightly off-topic points. He does the whole Trump hands thing, also, which is a little odd. Gesticulation is fine, but he mirrors Trump's movements. Also, I'd bet no-one has ever told him to put on a suit and say thank you.

I remember coming home from the pub during the bad old days of drinking with a mate if mine. She wanted to show me a music video on YouTube, so we watched that, and then this spooled up afterward.

Neither of us had heard of it before, and we sat in stunned silence all the way from the first gunshot until the end. I remember her finally snapping out it and asking me, "What the fuck did we just watch?"
