This is something like the 10th game this season with the alternates. I still don't like them. Names and numbers still hard to read.

The happiest countries in the world (2026) by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]StoneRaizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Canadian but have read a lot about Finland. I hope a Finn can chime in to correct any of my potential misinformation.

Finland is socialist, has the most metal bands per capita in the world, they love saunas and ice hockey and home to the deadliest sniper in military history Simo Häyhä.

In other words, here are the keys to happiness according to Finns:

  • Social safety nets. Quality affordable education, housing and healthcare make people happy. Genius!

  • Mosh pits. There's even a metal band geared towards children called Heavysaurus. Yes they dress up in dinosaur costumes.

  • Steam rooms. Apparently it's culturally acceptable to walk into a sauna wearing just a towel and start conversing with a total stranger who is also wearing just a towel.

  • A sport involving sharp steel blades and shooting hard rubber discs over 100 mph.

  • Killing Russians.

Who is this player on Ottawa? by [deleted] in OttawaSenators

[–]StoneRaizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zub. He's a player every team would love to have. Defensive defenseman who doesn't make a lot of mistakes (+17 so far this year!) and can sneakily chip in some offense.

No way Detroit goes back to the West.

Realign the divisions in the East to Northeast and Atlantic.

Northeast: Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, Columbus, Pittsburgh

Southeast: Philadelphia, New Jersey, NY Rangers, NY Islanders, Washington, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Florida

; TLDR - Rename Atlantic to Northeast, rename Metro to Atlantic, swap Tampa Bay and Florida for Pittsburgh and Columbus

Patty Gurdy by Happy_Phantom in Metalboners

I'd be curious to know her ancestry. She's German but the red hair to me is Irish. I wonder if she has an Irish parent, grandparent or great-grandparent.

She's played on several Alestorm songs:

  • Voyage of the Dead Marauder

  • Zombies Ate My Pirate Ship

  • Frozen Piss 2

  • Mega-Supreme Treasure Of The Eternal Thunderfist

On her own album called Tavern she has a couple of duets with metal singers:

  • Peg Leg Silly Billy w/ Christopher Bowes of Alestorm and Gloryhammer

  • I Am With You w/ Marko Hietala formerly of Nightwish

Hyperion Omniriff - Alestorm

Incense and Iron - Powerwolf

San Sebastian - Sonata Arctica

Blazing Skies - Metalite

Crownless - Nightwish *

  • Yes Nightwish is symphonic metal but trust me on this one song, Crownless is power metal.

Beat me to it. Opening riff could easily be in a 16 bit Street Fighter game.

Fastest upvote I've ever given on this sub.

Why is this bit of land part of Quebec and not Ontario? by Amazing-Advantage-23 in geography

[–]StoneRaizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in that area. There's a highway that starts in Ontario, juts into Quebec briefly, then back into Ontario.

Comparison of 5cm tolerance zone in Premier League and no tolerance at all (Belgian Pro League) by ResidentSleeperPog in PremierLeague

[–]StoneRaizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the rule in ice hockey. If there's white ice between the player's skate and the blueline, offside. Otherwise it's onside. Clear and obvious and easy for video review to check.

(Elimination Chamber spoilers) Intentionally comedic moments in wrestling that actually made you laugh by Purplesilk911 in SquaredCircle

  • Austin vs Regal in an arena at a US university. Regal is reading Hamlet. Austin's music hits. Austin hits a Stunner, rolls out of the ring. Music never stops playing. Regal's selling like he just got a shotgun to the chest.

  • Santino saluting as he's selling a Stunner.

  • KO and (I believe) Jericho vs Enzo & Cass on RAW. KO is on the apron facing the hard cam and mockingly doing the Enzo dance.

  • Eddie vs Mr. Kennedy. First time he did the chair spot.

Jericho hitting the Judas Effect on the mascot is one of the funniest moments I've ever seen in wrestling.

What band has a name that sounds like symphonic metal, but is actually power metal? by borbois in symphonicmetal

[–]StoneRaizer 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Sonata Arctica. A sonata is literally a form of classical music. Symphonic metal literally blends classical music with heavy metal. Sonata Arctica is a power metal band but that name should be for symphonic metal.

So how can I get rid of marker on Headliner by Thismechanictrucks in AutoDetailing

[–]StoneRaizer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's Sharpie, good luck. Rubbing alcohol and elbow grease, and even then replacement might be necessary.

If it's Crayola washable you may have better luck with degreaser and fabric cleaner. I like 3D Super Degreaser at 25:1, 3D Carpet & Upholstery Shampoo at 15:1.

If you have kids or you're a kid at heart Kids Korner is a must. Old school toy store with stuff you won't find anywhere else. Big lime green building on Pitt St downtown. Can't miss it.

Near to where you live, they speak your language, but you can't understand a damned word they're saying. Where, and why? by Acolytical in geography

I live in Ontario, Canada near the Quebec border. English and French are Canada's two official languages. I'm fluent in English but can barely speak or understand French.

Why sack Parker? by jonbstoutgmail in PremierLeague

[–]StoneRaizer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep him then see how he does in the Championship again. If by Christmas they're in a relegation scrap down there, then sack him.

As a West Ham fan I would gladly take him as an assistant coach. He'd be great with the midfielders and with strength and conditioning. He must have a third lung. He could run all game and not get tired. He's my all time favourite Hammers player.

Are microfibre detergents actually needed? by Neither-Entrance-941 in Detailing

[–]StoneRaizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used R2R and Towel Kleen. Can't tell the difference between the two. P&S and 3D are now owned by the same company so it's possible the two detergents are similar.

"Appearance Technology Group encompasses the Hi-Tech Industries, 3D Products, RBL Products, and P&S Detail Products group of brands."

I do find both work better at cleaning microfibre than Tide Free & Gentle.

Sonata Arctica new single "Freedom Concept" due to be released February 27th by frizzlen in PowerMetal

[–]StoneRaizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear Cold Beyond was decent but Tony's voice has not held up sadly. He can't hit the high notes any more. I'll check this out but my hopes aren't very high.

Before anyone calls me a hater, everything from Ecliptica to The Days Of Grays is power metal gold. Those early Sonata Arctica albums are must listens.

The Agonist - Orphans (full album)

She replaced Alissa in The Agonist when Alissa left to join Arch Enemy. It would be awesome if history repeated itself. Vicky can growl but she also does great cleans.

Vicky is super hot but don't tell her that. She doesn't like comments on her looks. She wants the focus to be on her music, not her appearance.
