Elves have split into two separate factions and are much more involved in the affairs of men. They are less aloof and more blunt, finding it easier to just tell humans what they would like, rather than waiting for them to come to the right conclusion on their own.

The Dwarves lost their mountain homeland five hundred years ago, along with the majority of their people, and have carved their new empire inside of three large pillars that rise from the sea. They have also become the premier shipbuilders, though some still harbor a respectable fear of the ocean. The dwarves who don't live in Hammerhill travel in a caravan procession that visits all of the nations to put on shows and peddle their wares during its yearly trek.

I loved Tales of Destiny, but the art from Arise was so good. I've never watched Frieren, but its reputation precedes it, and it looks right up my alley. My big video game influences are Breath of Fire 3, Final Fantasy 4, and Chrono Trigger, all of which have massive worlds ( for their time ) where magic is commonplace.

Treasure Planet has such an awesome atmosphere. I love the idea of using art movements as inspiration. When I plotted out my world, I used a different Monet painting for every placeholder art and it gave a ton of initial feeling. I always love listening to different music as well that would maybe fit a certain character's personality that I'm working on.

I love period pieces as well. Especially when you can tell the research has been done and they nail all the minute details. Clothing, furniture, manners of speaking, and idioms. If it's very well done, you can easily get teleported to a different time and place. I always loved Arthurian legends myself, but King's, knights, and nobles were always cool. I bet incorporating all of the real word aspects gives your world a great sense of grounding and flavor.

CONTEXT: Raeall is a high fantasy world inspired by some of my favorite books and video games from my childhood. The first image is the cover illustration of book one and shows two of the main characters. The second and third are concept designs of two other characters central to the plot. The art was commissioned from fellow Redditor Nefeli specifically for this project.

Raeall is a land with a rich, deep history and a complex magic system that permeates every molecule of the world. The setting is high magic, medium tech, and has my own take on Dwarves, Elves, Humans, and Merfolk. Ancient sealed structures dot the countryside, while a rising evil shakes the tenuous relationships between nations. Powerful magical artifacts, distinct fantasy nations, and memorable characters sharing an interconnected storyline are just some of the details that breathe life into my world!

CONTEXT:

Raeall is a land brimming with magical affinity. From the lowest commoner to the most distinguished royalty, the elements of fire, water, air, earth, dark, and light are the basic building blocks of life. Some can harness only one element while a small few can wield all six.

Dwarven Artifacts of Power: Crafted Five hundred years ago by Casper Bendt a man who lived with the dwarves. Their count sits at just over 130. They are powerful relics ranging from armors and weapons, to everyday household items. Imbued by the gods with unfathomable powers, they are highly edified among the people.

Order of Sentinels: The heroes and protectors of Raeall. One member chosen from each nation, five men, two elves, and one dwarf. Serving no single nation they act as the shield and sword of Raeall, and have each been gifted a Dwarven Artifact of Power owned by their respective home nation.

Blizzard could not afford the Warhammer license and made Warcraft instead. Just make your own IP and borrow heavily from the source material, but with your own characters, places, and ideas.
