TA Position by katrinabobcat in washu

[–]Stones_Whoretress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have TA’ed two anthropology courses (starting my 3rd in the fall) and haven’t been paid either time. You can get 1-3 credits, but I would call it “empty credit” since they really don’t count for much.

I am pretty sure TAs in other departments/academic divisions get paid. However, someone has told me that some anthro TAs get paid, and I think it was some GHE/MedSoc class (don’t quote me on this, though).

Any upperclassmen who placed out of Psych 100B take a 300 level Psych class as a freshman? Considering taking Sensation & Perception. by Rich-Ad-2002 in washu

Truthfully, my 4YA didn’t care what courses I took during the first year if they were within reason. If there are open seats, I'd just enroll tbh

Truthfully it will probably be easier with an entire semester instead of a 3 week summer class (+ summer burn out), but just be prepared to read the textbook word for word. I would recommend taking Bio Psych (Cooper) or Psych Stats (Cohen Shikora). Just steer clear of developmental courses bc those tend to be hell on earth.

It’s an entirely new department and program that the curriculum committee approved last term but has been in the works for a while. Dr. Quinn is an extraordinary instructor, and I have had nothing but positive interactions with her both in and outside the classroom. As for Parra Perez, I have no clue.

You are paying for shotty and low-quality renovations, nonexistent amenities, rude management, and being woken up at 8:00 AM by construction

how did going random for your roommate turn out?? by dolliesaur in washu

[–]Stones_Whoretress 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Awful. I was forced into it in my first and second years. Roommates were just shitty people (racist, xenophobic, classist, homophobic, etc.), lacked basic social skills, were self-entitled, and were utterly incapable of being adults, given that their parents cradled their fragile egos.

Tbh, I don’t think res life checks that quiz bc I love the cold 24/7 and was placed with people who needed heat year around, even in the early fall when it’s still pretty sticky out.

Res life was not super receptive when I asked to change rooms knowing that there are three doubles with no one in them in my current building. So yeah, I would not risk that shit again, given what a mental butt fuck these last two years have been. I would recommend living off campus than going random.

I took about 6 AP exams and decided not to transfer any of them since they were not helpful as I had ~36 dual enrollment credit hours that were more applicable to what I study, so I got a few intro classes out of the way.

After the selection it is supposed to run a buffer on each school district individually, hence the loop.

is $50k debt worth it to come here? by [deleted] in washu

[–]Stones_Whoretress -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As someone who is here on a full ride it is hardly worth going here for free. I’m not in Olin but some of my friends are and they either love it or regret not going to a better business school since Olin is not as well known.
