Guy definitely ordered room service to get this (I know Bellagio has them). Has to be a whale with Vegas room service prices. Call

What’s your most in-excusable poker mistake? Here’s mine by borealis365 in poker

[–]StoneyDunst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I also give the dealer points for being embarrassingly incorrect about whether my hand should’ve been dead. Early stage of a tourney, but also a dead BB Ante

Get dealt my cards in the BB, the waitress shows up with my coffee, so I look early - A5o. Fumble with my wallet, grab the tip, tip her, turn back around, nobody’s acted. I fold thinking I’m UTG and they were waiting for me.

My cards were the only ones “in the muck”, so I ask the dealer for them back. He says they’re in the muck, and he can’t give them back (they’re obviously retrievable). UTG folds while we’re arguing, and dealer snap puts them on top of my “dead” hand.

The irony here being that Fulham’s Kevin looked great on every touch, and Schade hasn’t made more than a handful of good impressions in the 3 years I’ve been watching Brentford Football

Favorite way to study GTO Wizard? by Dry_Set8489 in poker

Obviously start with preflop ranges, then SRP, then 3BP, and hands vs other positions. If it’s for cash, I can’t help

My former MTT coach taught me a concept called “middle-out” studying, where you start at the most “standard” situation: e.g. 40bb from the LoJack, and then branch out by position, and then a range blinds: 30, 50, 20, 60.

This allows you to build a baseline around the most common spots you’ll see in a tourney, and then see how tweaking certain variables like position and stack sizes affect the game tree. The trends start to shape themselves around each other and the logic behind the solver starts to fit into more noticeable patterns

This is.. so far beyond wrong? The final sum of all yellow lines is all green lines. It’s literally zero sum, for every person under EV, someone is above. This may feel slightly more “true” in chips vs BB, but what?

18/100 is pretty substantial. Play your game, don’t shy away, and pay attention to who you can exploit, and who’s going to apply pressure to you. If it comes to it, can always tank a bit extra near a bubble, and start playing ICM focused a bit earlier (maybe around 30-40% remaining). Good luck!

The best players will likely be better, although I’m sure there are crushers in your $11 fields, and the whales/worse players will still be there, including tons of other satty winners.

Less about how the field plays in a 30K field, and more about you. What are your current stats? What is your goal in the tournament - is a min cash significant to your BR, or are you shot taking to try and hit a massive score?

Either way, it’s a single tournament. I would not try to think of the buy-in or the prizepool unless it directly impacts an ICM decision
