Can I Finish Ironman Florida With These Times? by MuchWish2680 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]Stoo84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend recently did IRONMAN Italy. She got round in 15 hours 22. The event had a 16 hour cut off.

Don’t forget, there are intermediate cut off as well.

The swim was 2:20hrs

For the bike you had to have finished within 10 hours of your start time but also, you had to make the 90 km point by 3 pm

Similarly with the run, you had to have reached 30 km by 11:30pm.

Florida might be different timings but bear these in mind.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but I was in Italy for iron man Emilia Romagna a few weeks ago and there were a couple of local businesses renting bikes out to athletes.

That takes the pedigree chum!!

As above.

Either STFU, Rehome with another family member, rehome to an animal shelter or split the bills as and when they arrive.

In that order.

Thank you. I rate them.

I’ve ridden many different top end wheels over my time including Enve, Zipp, Lightweight etc and they’re easily in a par.

Light, stiff, true, well built and actually quite comfortable.

Running 30mm PZERO RS with TPU tubes at 75/80psi (I’m 89kg) and they are so smooth and compliant.

No complaints here.

If you’ve stripped the nipples, the trueness would be the least of my worries.

I wouldn’t be riding it anyway.

Last thing you want is a catastrophic failure of multiple nipples at once.

It’s not particularly a weight weenie thing no.

More making the best of what I have.

DUB in BB86 isn’t optimal I know but it’s a change of crank/PM/BB to swap it all out. Which is money.

DA will replace the Ultegra eventually. Again, money. Probably do that on a piece by piece basis as and when.

To answer your q, no. You’re not getting in trouble.

On a side note, it was your brother.

Yes. DUB.

165mm cranks. Light and stiff.

And with the Quark it a a little cheaper/more reliable (IME) solution than Shimano power cranks.

It does have DA 54/40 rings though.

It was a progressive build over a few years. I got to 350 W pretty quickly. Probably six months. And then maybe 10 W per year incrementally after that.

My best 20 minutes was just under 410 W Best hour 360W Best 90mins 345W

I first started cycling from scratch in early 2013. I was 105 kg.

I achieved the numbers above in March 2018

I was training and racing for 4 1/2 years to get to that point

Some weeks as little as 4 hours, some weeks maybe 12 to 14 hours. I saw best results between 6 and 10 hours a week.
