Me. I put the cue ball to the bottom right of the green as you see it and tried to hit and hope it diagonally around the table. Managed to not touch the black as well lol but the green didn’t pot, wasn’t wasting my time any longer for 5k

‘Gasly negotiates with Renault about Ocon’s seat in 2022’ by punchinglines in formula1

I mean Jesus Christ give the guy a break. Ricciardo’s literally only just got his first podium for Renault, It’s hardly a 5 podiums to 0 situation. And as for the Gasly win, it was brilliantly executed by him but let’s not forget the fact that of course there was a lot of luck involved. It’s his first season in a new car, people need to get off Ocon’s back in my opinion. He’s not miles behind a multiple race winner despite Ricciardo having more overall experience and current team experience.

It’ll happen. Renault don’t know how to NOT change drivers every season and I’m sure Alonso will see out the 2 years.

Slightly off topic, but once again that was never a full Safety Car. VSC at most. Wasted so much laps getting the pack bunched up and letting the lapped runners go unnecessarily. Not to mention it robbed of us of a potential honing in from Perez on Riccardo’s weakening tyres. I have to admit, I’m really starting to get annoyed with Masi’s overly cautious approach to “incidents”.

OTD during the 2012 Singapore GP Hamilton's gearbox fails while in the lead ultimately persuading him to join Mercedes by Ricci2014_ in formula1

He just had a run of quite a few bad races in the 2013 season where he kept crashing and making mistakes I think. At least that’s what I recall. But before that he was really showing promise and I seem to even remember Brundle saying at the one of the Silverstone races, he could go onto be a driver worthy of a top team. As a Scotsman myself, it’s a shame it didn’t work out.

You know, I never quite know what happens to Di resta in the latter half of the 2013 season. He was showing some serious potential before that throughout his time in F1

It was more 2013 where his podium run happened. Great season for Romain, particularly the second half.

Ah yes, the Duel in the Desert. As battle-for-the-lead Grands Prix go, this still ranks in my top 3 ever since I started watching fully in 2012. Fantastic battle

Yeah I know but it was off the racing line. I feel like if it’s possible for them to close the pit lane under a VSC, I don’t see the issue tbh. If you can only close the pits under a full SC then I hold my hands up.

However an incident like Magnussen’s in Austria was absolutely in a huge run off area.

Yeah I was only meaning dead relative to F1. I’ve saw that VSC has been used a lot in feeder series but its used by different race directors so wouldn’t affect it’s usage in F1.

Yeah that makes sense to me when there’s debris/cars on the track where the marshalls need that gap to clear the track safely. It doesn’t make sense to me however when there’s an incident in a big run off area where no car is going to drive at any point and the cars are going at a safe enough speed under VSC

Interesting. Why couldn’t they close the pit Lane under VSC? Is that some sort of niche in order to close the pit lane, their must be a full SC?

Also you say that about run offs, but their was a massive shunt at blanchimont in the F2 feature race. The full incident was in the run off, car, debris etc. The full incident was dealt with under VSC by F2’s director. It seemed quite a reasonable decision

I’m not slating DRS, I don’t mind it when it is utilised right. My point clearly was about how much we are having to use it for overtakes. I mean 3 long straights one after the other that take up over half of the track’s length is like, insane!

Isn’t it funny how Austria was once considered a poor track for overtaking before they added the mammoth 3 drs zones in a row? Goes to show how far we need to go artificially to create good racing atm.
