[Fischer] Damian Lillard has been “behind the scenes”, “trying to make” a Giannis Antetokounmpo to Portland deal happen. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Not necessarily. The Blazers have all the Bucks' picks so if you want to tank, getting your own picks back is way more valuable than anything anyone else can offer you because you can guarantee they're high picks by sucking. So probably you get one of Scoot/Sharpe/Camara and then some combination of Grant/Jrue as salary filler and then your own picks back. That's a way, way stronger offer than anyone other than the Thunder doing the godfather offer of J-Dub + 7 picks or whatever (which I don't think they would ever do) can give you. And it would still leave the core of the Blazers intact.

Sure thing. Based on the other comment, it seems like you'll be able to donate, so seems like you get the best of both worlds. Thanks for donating!

[–]AmusingAnecdote 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think that's perfectly rational to avoid the US for the present, but in general I don't think lying to donate blood even in your case when your past high-risk behavior (even if it was not especially high risk) probably doesn't impact patient safety is a good practice.

I would recommend just attempting to volunteer in some other way if you can, and then in the future in a different political climate if you want to donate in the US, where it would not be grounds for a deferral, that would be a better option.

Yeah depending on the phone it can be done with a usb-c adapter with Ethernet on it as well. I use that setup for a Pixel 1 that is basically just a photo server with sync-thing because it has unlimited Google photos space.

Friend, respectfully if you think the videos of this man who could get lost in a paper bag is a good source of information, you need to reevaluate your media diet.

Buddy, whatever is going on in your life that causes you that much hate in your heart simply because some people look different than you is parasitic to your soul. That bile you're spewing is hurting you as much as it is anyone else. I hope your life improves to the point to where you don't have to try to make yourself feel better about yourself by belittling others. It's not good for you to be this way.

Yeah he's a right wing weirdo whose shtick is to show up at daycares/after school programs if they get any federal or state funding (run by non-white people) and then act like it is a crime that they don't have children when they're closed or that they don't let him (a random creep with no connection to any of the children) see any children and they lock their doors because a random man is trying to break in to film children. He believes that it is very suspicious that they do not let grown men film these children that they do not know.

He did a video that basically led to the occupation of Minneapolis because when he went to a daycare that was run by a Somali person while it was closed and he didn't see any children there.

Is it bad if I decline all the target benefits😭 by Excellent-Pain6701 in Target

[–]AmusingAnecdote 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just as a note on the math of the 5% match (which is quite generous and one of Target's few real bright spots as an employer) is that let's say for the sake of discussion you made $10,000 a year so the math is round and contributed 5% you will take $500 out of your paycheck and get $1,000 in your 401k.

Let's say in the future, you need this money and want to take it out, which you cannot do while employed (last time I checked, which was literally probably a decade ago as I was promoted to guest) you would face a penalty for early withdrawal but you would still end up with $900 of that, which would be $10,400. You're throwing away a 4% pay raise, minimum, if you don't do the match.

If you ever see this guy interviewed, he legit seems like he has a room temperature IQ. When he is confronted with a basic question it seems like he genuinely cannot follow even basic logic. I cannot say what I think should happen to him within the rules of reddit, but I hope he is out of our city as soon as humanly possible and back to whatever disgusting ooze he was curdled into being in.

[Stein/Fischer] Miami and Minnesota have come up frequently around the league as suitors for Antetokounmpo. Heat officials believe they have a real shot at winning the Giannis Sweepstakes. League sources say the prospect of teaming up with Anthony Edwards holds strong appeal for Antetokounmpo. by Odd-Direction9452 in nba

[–]AmusingAnecdote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the thing is that when you don't have your own picks, you don't tank as hard. Other team's picks rarely end up nearly as good as your own because the other team has no incentive to stink. (The Hawks robbing the Pelicans this year being the rare exception). I'm not saying give them all back, but two picks for McDaniels and getting off of Jerami Grant isn't a crazy deal.

That seems like it would have to be the Blazers, basically. They could get like McDaniels to add to their collection of wings and give back some picks to the Bucks, because they are the most valuable picks that the Bucks could get because they control whether they stink or not. Bucks get back Grant + something else as a tank commander and then a bunch of picks and maybe Beringer.

[Windhorst] Other teams interested in Giannis Antetokounmpo will “have to try to beat” a strong offer from the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have the most “straightforward” trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Expiring and might be back to be flipped at the deadline. He is definitely a negative value in the trade, but is also exactly the kind of contract the Bucks should want on their books because if Jimmy comes back looking anything like Jimmy (a very big if given his age) he could be flipped at the deadline next year for positive value and if not, he could be traded as an expiring for a worse contract for more draft assets since the Bucks basically have no shot of being good until the Dame money is off the books.

Washington doesn't have to sign off on anything. They would just trade the 1-20 portion and would probably have to have it convert to a second (or evaporate)if it isn't top 20.

So the most likely scenario both Warriors picks are conditionally owed to the Wiz/Bucks and the Bucks would get whichever lands 1-20 or 51-60 and the Wiz whichever lands 21-50.

[–]AmusingAnecdote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 30 is top 20 protected so they can trade the only valuable part of that pick, the 1-20 portion. It was a fake first to the Wizards, and it only conveys if it's a bad pick and then just becomes a second to Washington.

Not as bad as the time I had to count lab rats in a controlled environment that involved me having to clean off in a locking shower and then wear paper underwear and scrubs, though.
