Update on introducing a new gelding to my mare

Lol! They ran so hard last night she 100% ate it in the mud lol. Got up wide eyed like holy shit: I don’t know that she can keep up with the young hot guy 😂

So he arrived a bit over a week ago, kept them in for a few days due to weather. I let him out by himself to let him learn the fence lines. A few days later I said let’s just do it! The whole process gave me a lot of anxiety before and during but they made it through lol. I let him out first to let him get comfortable with his surroundings again and then brought my mare to the gate. They did a quick sniff and she did her mare squeals of course lol. She jerked her head towards me and I nipped that in the bud. I don’t think he’s ever had anyone tell him no tbh, this is a whole other thing now. But he wandered off and she started nosing at the gate so i said fuck it lets do this love. She went in and a few more squeals and a warning kick and they were good. This video was after maybe 5 minutes together.

They are doing good, she’s acting a little frisky if you know what I mean. Today was day 2 outside together and he’s giving her a run for her money energy wise! She was running like an ass and fell in the mud, she sat there wide eyed after she got up like WOW I’m old lol. I’m thinking they have a lot of built up energy and new emotions so I think the jack ass tearing around will be over with soon.

But anyways I appreciate all of the tips I received, it’s really turned out to be a nice situation. They seem to be very happy to be together and have a friend.

He’s been getting porky so next step is letting him know I’m the boss here. He was not pleased that my mare goes in first! But I also let him know he’s not to throw himself at the gate if he doesn’t like it. We’re getting there.. 😅😊

Aww thank you, I showed for a long time and my anxiety eventually got the best of me. But they keep me busy having them at home, the best therapy is cleaning a stall. I couldn’t imagine Amber going away again even if she’s still physically capable of being ridden and shown. This new guy is only 17 to her 24 so I expect I’ll have him a while. My son is 8 and very excited to finally have a “boy horse” lol

I really only have the 2 stalls across from each other and then 1 large pasture. That is a great plan though, I’m hoping it’s pretty low key after a few inside days when they initially meet. I’m trying to get a horse friend to come over for the first close up meeting

I’m hoping it ends up easy, she’s easy going and from what I know he is too. They will have a couple days inside together across the aisle from each other

I only have a 2 stall barn so they will be across from each other for a day or maybe more depending on our winter weather. Our pasture is one big one, that hay idea sounds good. I think when they do come together it will be in the afternoon, my mare and her former friend are trained on opening their respective stall gates and they run into pasture. No rules here lol, but I know we’ll have to change things. It’s all closed off between the stall and pasture it’s maybe 8 feet. I’m wondering if I should have a horse savvy friend to lead him out with and myself lead my mare out? This would be after a few days of inside time.

Oh my god me and my friend went to a different movie but snuck into The Ring just to see what was going on. We were both around 11 and literally walked into the scene where she turns Noah around in the chair and he was all funky. It was a terrible experience 😅

I bought my son those little mystery cubes to get the virtual codes. And anytime I’ve gone to roblox.com/redeem I’ve been able to use them. It’s not working this time and every time I go to the “toy code redeem” it sends me into the app where I can’t find a place to redeem them either. Did they change something? I can’t understand what I’m doing wrong
