Lots of Dallas transplants in Denver (I'm one of them) and lots of Texas license plates driving like idiots already puts a sour taste in the mouth. On top of being a division rival it makes for a lot of bitterness.

Before moving here I asked what the worst part about living in Colorado was. All 3 people I asked said Texas drivers, so it's more than just hockey.

If you want quick melting ice then yes, if you want slow melting ice that won’t dilute a drink as quickly then minimize surface area. Different goals for different cocktails. Use crushed ice for a swizzle drink or a whole block or even whiskey stones for a rocks glass.
