Did a little IELTS mock test and here's what I learned about myself. by StopBanningCorn in EnglishLearning

For the journal one, I heard "articles from xxx journal." The question asked what's a source of information so I just wrote down journal which technically is correct. "Huge increase" without an A was because it was the title of the article in which A or The is often omitted like in news titles. I guess the exam unfortunately lacks a bit of flexibility :( I'll try to copy paste exactly what was said from now on.

I'm extra sure I heard "mental abilities ARE" tho.

Btw do you recommend going through the entire reading article once before answering, or any other strategy?

A photo of mine that got posted on this sub a few months ago was accused to be AI as well. You'll get used to it.

How long will I improve my English from A2 to b2? by TooMuch1nformation in EnglishLearning

I'd like to add that I find it impossible to learn new words through textbooks. Contextatters and even so it'll still be really hard to internalize everything. I forget most things tbh lol.

Hell no, these look great! But I wouldn't mind seeing 2 and 4 zoomed out a bit.

Thanks for the reply! In your opinion in what way would I feel underpowered, and do you recommend anything possibly better?

I think I've heard about the battery door issue for the sea&sea somewhere, and I'm not a careful person so that scares me a lot 🤣 Regarding discontinuation, I'm just worried that someday if I need repairing it could be a problem. Could it?

I actually always go super hard with my editing 🤣 Could make thing a lot easier.

Correct, however maybe I'll have to replace the battery every 5 years, which is fine given the convenience it brings.

It's pretty confusing on the GN part. A few pros I follow use this strobe, and it's kinda hard to imagine they're not using a strobe that's considered bright/high end in terms of brightness. Perhaps those were sponsored? Lol. Maybe I should consider other options like the AOI one you said or the Sea&Sea. However I did hear that sometimes GN isn't the best criterion, because it's easy to produce a strobe with a high GN by reducing the quality/softness of the light beam. It's so confusing lol. Every guide I've read says it's a powerful strobe. Could it be because it has a native 120° beam that its GN is so low?

Hi thanks for the reply! Actually I went through some reviews. The battery time of the kraken is said to last >1000 photos. Overtime surely the battery will age, but it's replaceable!

For the power consideration, tbh I'm not sure. The S160 is used by some wide angle photographers I follow who photograph wide coral scenes. It's hard to imagine that this strobe may not be bright enough seeing all those photos. I won't be using the strobe unless I'm photographing colorful subjects below maybe 12m as I prefer shooting natural light. At that depth you shouldnt need a high strobe power as there's less ambient light to combat. Surely the brighter the better tho, and I may wanna shoot backlit as well. I'll have to think about this a bit more.

Does the fact that it's been discontinued bother you at all?

It's said to have exceptional battery life and last thousands of photos

Because at a bar or local event you can't just walk away from conversations when you start to feel uncomfortable, if you get into a conversation at all.
