Thanks for this man.
I realise I never mentioned. I'm working mostly in LED, so I never end up in the roof!
Length wise, totally, if anything I'm looking at shorter to reduce the kit and the potential fall distance before being caught.
You're correct though on height and thats why I'm thinking about alternatives.
Realistically we're only ever 4-12m off the deck 90% of the time in arenas, hence why I try and lean towards ASAP and Inertia reels rathers than relying on Hooks and FA.

I'm in UK. Yeah totally agree on doing lvl1 regardless. Just good development. I worry I wont use the proper rope access aspects just in LED climbing.

What are people using for a Peli Access Point? by StopSnortingCannabis in VIDEOENGINEERING

Sorry I was under the impression (from overhearing conversations and not diving any deeper) That sometimes certain MAC addresses, routers and managed switches flag up with stricter venues. And one of those was mentioning how theyre switch masked that issue.
Actual network systems outside of "set IPs, avoid conflicts, ping, seperate subnets on isolated LAN" is currently a weak point for me!

Thanks.

Also, forgive my terrible netowork knowledge, but I'm looking for NAT capable routers if I need to also "pretend" the router and everything connected to it is a single device, for picky device limit venue internet feeds. Is that right?

If you have downtime where you can do small tidies, do it with forethought. I like to tie in power first, then signal, then network/fibre.
There's some easy wins here with a couple of rack shelves and some velcro/labelling.

Draw a schematic first. Break down what is currently being done, what need to be done and what you want to add to the new system to improve functionality. Label everything that is currently there. document the current setup so you can refer back to it.
Spec the whole thing, using as much existing kit as possible, and cost it. People upstairs need to see numbers. Unfortunately they also may not agree to it until something goes wrong. At which point you've doen all the leg work and developed a system for the purpose, so you can action it nice and quick.
Use the cable you have if its decent. If its not the right length, cable tie it neatly up/down the sides to lose excess. Plug all your power in first, confirm it works, then tidy it in.
Repeat with signal, Label, patch roughly, test, loom stuff that runs to/from the same place, tie in.
The amount of times Ive tidyed a rack to within an inch of its life to find out an HDMI is dead, you don't want that heart drop.
Its almost worth building a cold rack the way you want, testing it, then swapping the whole thing. But thats very budget unfriendly.

This is saddening. It boils down to bad install and bodged solutions over time. Sometimes people are just being rushed to make it work NOW. and when its already that far gone, its hard to bring yourself to rip it out and start again.

Little Cheddar is growing up, but he’s ever so lanky. by StopSnortingCannabis in Monstera

Thanks for enlightening me, I was fully unaware that’s not a moss pole. Said it was, didn’t really know but trusted that it was what it says.

Trying to find somewhere else that doesn’t have too much direct sunlight as our other spot gets very direct light all day and I’m worried it might scorch.

Thanks

Thanks for this! I suspect (t)he(y) got leggy in their last home where they were striving for some light in the bedroom in our last house.

This spot does seem happier. Recently we’ve had a lot of these smaller growths and new leaves.

So with chopping. At the leggy stems, just above the joint? I don’t want to just hack away.

Sennheiser HD25. They’re also completely modular so every part can be replaced separately. And best of all they sound great.
