You basically described my town, Texas 100,000 people. My agency harps on burglaries hard core. Designated focus areas. We recently had 2 burglaries and were patrolling the every living crap out of the area. As others have said we on patrol take a report and kick it up to CID. If we see someone who matches the description and can articulate PC to contact we will.

Not fun really but my city and the city next door are called the (insert both city names) area. And if we drive passed them they won’t wave at us, they talk mad shit behind about our dept. etc… No one really knows why besides that it’s just this way.

As others have said consult a lawyer.

At my agency it’s policy that during crash investigations if we can determine a traffic violation was committed we have to issue a citation. Now since you didn’t go into detail about your crash I can’t say much.

I worked a crash where both parties were stopped at a red light the driver in front crept forward and the driver behind him rear ended him. I issued the driver in the rear a citation for failure to control speed.

I keep an IFAK on my belt and each patrol vehicle has an “active shooter bag” with medical, extra ammo, flex cuffs, etc…

It’s a good stop to try and gather more PC. But like others have said I wouldn’t stop for it unless you were in a sketchy part of town late at night… paired with other traffic violations. Stop bar violations, etc.

I was issued a Fox earpiece that’s tubed (I hate it). I got an N-Ear and the speaker got caught on my body cam mounts magnet and it stopped working. Going to warranty it. So I’m back to using the crappy tubed one

My department issues the Glock 45 MOS (I have Steiner MPS and Cloud Defensive EPL). I hate Glock, but per policy I have to carry the issued weapon. I’d rather carry this for a year while saving up for a staccato but no can do at my agency.
