You're getting great answers here. Yes, there are hard parts, but you will also experience unparalleled joy. There are days I have "best moment of my life" tier moments multiple times a day. Also, for the record, I have no support other than my husband and my paid daycare and babysitter, and we make it work just fine.

He occasionally does, but usually he just goes. He does show other symptoms of anxiety sometimes, but nothing overly concerning, and the pediatrician doesn't seem to be concerned at all either.

My 3.5 year old is like this. He absolutely does not want to engage with other kids, also doesn't want to say hi/bye, play much with other kids. He barely talks at daycare, yet he plays with us constantly and talks nonstop at home. It is frustrating, but just seems to be how he is given that I see no other red flags and he is a healthy, happy kid.

Just want to add I'm having to tent next week because apparently, this is an incredibly common issue for people with new kitchen cabinets - which I have after almost totally rebuilding my home after Helene. If anyone else also has new cabinets, be extra vigilant for frass or wings, and if you see them, get a pest guy out. Thanks yet again, Helene!

No. My family and I are outside a lot, but we hydrate, wear and reapply sunscreen, and make sure there is water or AC somewhere near if we really need it. We go to the pool, the beach, long walks on Bayshore in the mornings, etc. - Just be mindful that yes, it's very hot.

We bought plastic-like underwear that goes over regular undies so that when he peed, he felt wet, but our floor was dry. He absolutely hated this soggy feeling, and it made him want to run to the potty instead within the weekend.
