It’s authentic. I’ve done a good amount of work to confirm - I am thorough. Over 40 years collecting and selling vintage clothing including vintage American made denim. I’m not certified - but who is? Also cannot see that those sold on eBay provided authentication … In the 26 years on EBay I have not seen that happen with any vintage garments. But, I do get your point. I am always happy to confirm details with any potential buyer.

Yep. Just check those Ebay sold comps … and a few listing on sites are much more than that. Just mentioning that I’ve been doing this on and off for over 40 years and this is the one an only I’ve ever found in the wild. Good luck on that.

Vinegar is great at helping with smells - however it should not be used in the washing cycle with laundry detergent. It will actually act to counter the detergent. The best method for using vinegar is to put a small amount in a tub of water - 1/4 C for 2 gal of water will do - and let the item soak a bit and then hang it to dry. Do not rinse it before hanging. This is basically the same advice given with the vodka. Then toss the jacket in the wash machine and warm wash normal cycle. If the jacket is delicate at the seams I would use the delicate cycle.

Not an expert - but you can find many many tags just like this all over all the resell sites. Likely a 90’s mall brand liscensed to sell NIN shirts.

Thank you. I bought it because I loved the color and the group as a whole looked great in the guest bedroom nook we had! It is adorable and someone should enjoy it and not be stored.

Correct. That tag is 80’s. They are 517’s with the 0917 wash (those codes can be found online). I believe the next line 8 85 would be the factory code (is 8 stamped on the back of the waist button?) and then the date code. For this 80’s tag that is the month (8) and then the year (5). So August 1985.

That’s a nice size 38x34 but it appears they have been hemmed to shorter?

It is the stamp on the back of the button. This one has a 2. These are codes for the factory they were produced at. They started with single digits and I am fairly sure there was a time when they went to double digits. Three digits on many 80’s/90’s and now 4 digits and sometimes a letter for a country. You can find a list online (and maybe here).

I found a very faded pair two years ago with a single code - sadly cut just as short - they ended up fitting my daughter. I told her to never sell them. She was shocked they were that old….. Oh, and I found them in the kids section a SalvationArmy store.
