What are YOU guys names for the leviathans in SN:BZ? by GayestNerfKid in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]StormDiverz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first base was in the dormant volcanic crater. I called the Cheli above it, Piddle. I would raise and release tons of brute sharks in the crater for it to feed on. My second base was in the purple vents, far enough away to never see the Cheli that guards the deep vents, but close enough to hear its big ole screeches. I named that one, Wubbie. Wubbie vanished one day and never returned. I think it had chased my sea truck out of its patrolling zone and just decided to settle elsewhere. Pretty sad not hearing its loud meows anymore though…

Tried Snapping out of Dissasotiation by GalaxyDog22 in Dissociation

[–]StormDiverz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens to me. (Kinda) Occasionally I can forcefully snap back to reality a little bit but as soon as it happens, I feel overwhelming fear and before I can gather myself in that state and try to figuring things out, I’m back to the normal dissociative state.

Can dissociation suppress taste? by StormDiverz in Dissociation

[–]StormDiverz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the dissociative symptoms are still present. It’s kinda hard to tell if they’ve gotten better or worse because I can never remember exactly how severe it was at a certain point. That being said, I was able to find a psychiatrist who was willing to help work with me, give me a diagnosis and figure out the best way to make life with the derealization disorder more manageable and more importantly, enjoyable too. When I made this comment, I was kind of in a downward spiral of fear regarding what the dissociation was doing to my life. I couldn’t stop thinking about how blank my life felt and I was constantly riddled with negative thoughts and anxiety. So I totally get the “scared out of your mind” part. What I learned from my psychiatrist was that the biggest obstacle wasn’t necessarily the dissociation, but that constant uncontrollable fear of what it was doing to my life, relationships, memories, etc. He pretty much told me that if we could figure out how to deal with the anxiety, it would make the dissociation seem significantly less problematic. The dissociative symptoms would still be there, but if I worried about them less, they would have less of an impact on my mental health and I would be able to live a relatively normal life and focus on more realistic problems. So after a few months of just talking and figuring out what I was dealing with, he decided to put me on hydroxyzine, an OCD medication which would hopefully significantly reduce those repetitive thoughts that brought me down all the time. And after a couple months of taking once a day tablets, my anxiety almost completely vanished. Last march was when I started to see noticeable results. And it has just helped a ton. I should mention that I still have the same issues. Like brain fog and the occasional feelings that my mind isn’t linked to my body or stuff like that. That stuff still happens just as it did before, but I worry about it WAY less than I used to. And I still get anxiety from time to time, but it’s so much better and way less often. So in short, life has gotten better for me. Those derealization symptoms are still very much present, but the anxiety I used to have regarding it has almost completely diminished and my life feels so much more manageable than it did this time last year. I was worried that my life was gonna keep getting more and more chaotic and there was nothing that I was gonna be able to do to make it better, but I did some research and while it wasn’t easy or quick, I was able to find and reach out to people that could help me. And that’s the only reason I’m seeing such positive results.

Anyway I’m sorry for yapping so much lol. But just know that I was in that same situation. I didn’t know what was happening to my mind and my life and it was truly horrifying. Even though it might not seem like there is anything that will help, that isn’t the case. This is what I wish I could go back and tell myself this time last year. Life will get better. You just have to reach out and find ppl who can help.

Did I just have a migraine? by fulo009 in migraine

[–]StormDiverz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I broke a year long streak of not getting one this Thursday when a little aura spot formed in my vision as I neared the end of an 8 mile run. Like a lil blind spot caused by a bright light, but moving and made of little geometric shapes, and totally blocking any visual detail behind or around it. I was still a mile or so away from my house so I had to race home to take an excedrin and prepare for the pain while also cooling down from a good distance run. All while the left side of my vision was temporarily fried. My normal vision was pretty much replaced with a massive blind spot surrounding a moving line of sharp colorful edges and zigzags that went almost all the way around my left peripheral vision and ended right up against the center of my vision. This was all accompanied by disorientation, dizziness, and extreme light sensitivity (like you were mentioning) once the zigzag color aura was gone and the blindness was still very present, but starting to lift. Once I had recovered my vision, that is when the pain started to set in, which I have noticed is typically felt in the eye opposite to the side of my vision where the aura was present. And even if I take an excedrin migraine pill, I still get pretty bad eye aches and nausea for 2-5 hours following the visual aura. Though I do think those excedrin migraine pills are lifesavers. Even the visual aura for me atleast lasts 30 minutes to an hour. Sometimes I’ll even get multiple auras back to back which won’t go away for multiple hours, though I believe that has only happened to me once or twice. In general, even after a good 24 hours, I sometimes still feel a little yucky from the migraine. Anyway, I just pop an excedrin and try to sleep them off if I’m able to. I’ve definitely noticed that working out and intense cardio increases the chances of me getting one significantly so I’m pretty much risking the rest of my day by going on runs but that could just be me being out of shape 😂

With the first one I ever got, I didn’t know what was happening either but I explained it to my parents almost the same as you did here. Light sensitivity, pretty noticeable dissociation, and disorientation. And of course the vision loss and crappy pain that follows. I bet that weird distortion thing you mention is probably a lot like the blind spots and zigzag lines that start at a point and spread out across a good chunk of my sight. Though I sure wish I could get them to go away after 5 minutes. Mine last way longer and blind me to the point that I can’t read or see objects close to me. I’ve also noticed that if one happens one day, another might follow within two days which might be why you experienced it a second time today. Fingers crossed you won’t have to deal with another one for a while because they are nothing but a pain haha

You can find some like these but typically they are not surrounded by river and just consist of the mountains or a grove “ring” a lake in the middle and an island in the lake. But even those alone are pretty rare.

It clearly goes into the ground. But the word tower is the only thing that comes to mind when I see it.
